みなさんこんにちは、友利新です。今日はこちら、カネボウのクリームインデイとナイトが新しくなったので、何が新しくなったのか、そもそもこの2つがなぜ素晴らしいのかということを、とことん深掘りしていきたいと思います。 今回新しくなったものは、ナイトの方が大きくて、デイはちょっと小さくてつるっとしていたり、見た目が変わっているんですけど、そもそものリニューアル前は大きさも一緒だったり、質感もパッケージも一緒だったりして、デイの方にSPFが入っていました。 赤ちゃんって羊水というお水の中にいるじゃないですか。そこから赤ちゃんが生まれてきた時には、急に水分がないところに出させられるわけですよ。急に乾燥したところにいるので、赤ちゃんは胎脂と呼ばれる油に包まれて生まれてくるんですね。それがなくなっていくと同時に、外気に触れても大丈夫なように真皮がなっていくことで、乾燥から守っている。この胎脂の発想から生まれたのが、クリームインデイとナイトという商品だと言われています。 ただそれを知らない人でも、朝しっかり塗ると保湿感もあって乾燥を予防してくれるから、乾燥でお化粧崩れをしやすいという人にもいいし、なぜかこれを塗っていると化粧持ちがいい。それは乾燥肌だけじゃなくて脂性肌の人もいいとか、あとSPFも入っているから日焼け止めの効果もあるんじゃないかということも言われて、爆発的にヒットしたんですよ。 でもどうしてなのかというのは、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリルという成分が肝なんじゃないかというふうに言われて、クリームインデイが流行ったから、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリルという油分が、結構いろんなものに入るようになって、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリルが入っているから、クリームインデイと一緒なんじゃないかとか、そういったこともSNSで見られるようになったんですよ。でも実は肝は全然違っていたということなんですね。 そもそもカネボウのクリームは、胎脂クリームといって、一番最初に2020年に発売になりました。胎脂発想というものが何かというのは、あんまり私たちも分からないところがあったので、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリルなんじゃないかってなったんだけれども、実はこれを作っているカネボウさんって、胎脂というものをめちゃくちゃ研究しているブランドさんなんですよ。 始まりは1994年に、カネボウさんの研究員さんが新聞かなんかにこの胎脂というものの記事が載っていたらしいんですね。こんなすごいのがあるんだったら化粧品に応用できないかというところで、胎脂研究がスタートしたらしいんですよ。94年、私はもう大人だったですけど、皆さんはいかがですか？そんな時から胎脂というものが乾燥肌の人にはいいんじゃないかというもので研究が始まって、95年には大人の皮脂と新生児の胎脂、何が違うのかというのを解析するところから始まります。 私たちの皮脂というのももちろん乾燥から守ってくれているんだけれども、胎脂というのは保水能力が高いということが分かっているんですよ。だからこそ胎脂の成分を解明できたら、水分が蒸発するのを防ぐだけじゃなくて、お水をしっかりと抱え込める、乾燥肌の人にはいいよねという考え方なので。ちなみに胎脂というのは大人の皮脂の3倍以上、お水をしっかりキープできるという高い水分保持能があるということが分かっているので、じゃあそれを探索しようということから始まったんですよ。 そこでいう皮脂というのは、皮脂腺由来の油と、表皮の細胞が作っている細胞由来の細胞間脂質とか、そういったものが合わさっての脂質というものになってきます。皮脂腺由来だとトリグリセリドだったりとか、スクワランだったりとか、ワックスエステルとかそういったものが多くて、表皮の細胞から作られるものというのは、コレステロールとかコレステロールエステルというものが多いということはもともと分かっているんですね。 大人の皮脂と新生児の胎脂って何が違うかって見ていくと、大人の皮脂よりも圧倒的にコレステロールエステルというものとセラミドが多いということが分かったんですよ。コレステロールエステルというものを化粧品の原料にできないかというふうにカネボウさんが考えて、1994年にそれをスタートして、その翌年だったかな、今はこのコレステロールエステルというものを化粧品原料化するんですね。それが長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルという成分になります。 どんな化粧品会社でも今は使える成分になっているんですけど、一つポイントがあって、めちゃくちゃベタベタしているらしいんですよ。だからこそ水を引き込めるし、外気から乾燥を守っているというところになるので。でもこのベタベタしていたら、化粧品の原料に入れるとしたらめちゃくちゃ気持ち悪くなっちゃうんですよ。だからこれを試行錯誤して、どうやって滑らかにしていくかというのを、カネボウさんといえば乳化の技術がめちゃくちゃ長けているので、長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルというものを1995、96年にはもう作っていたんだけど、どうやってベタベタしないように気持ちいいクリームにするかというのを、滑らかにする技術をしているというのがカネボウなんですね。 じゃあ胎脂に一番含まれているこれができましたってなっても、全部これだけではないわけだから、他の成分も混ぜて胎脂に似せたというレシピを作ったというのが、カネボウのクリームインデイとナイトになっています。肝というのは、ベタベタしないように乳化された長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルというもの、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリル、あとはセラミドだったり、10種類以上を組み合わせることによって、胎脂の成分がここに入っているんです。すごくないですか。なのでお水を抱え込むし、お水の蒸発も防いでくれるというものになっているんです。 なので私の中でクリームインデイとナイトを使ったことがあって、私自身は皮脂テカなので、クリーム苦手なんですけど、唯一やっぱりこのクリームインデイだけは、乾燥がある時期とかに塗ると、確かに化粧崩れもないし、ニキビになるってこともあんまり自覚症状はなかったし、皮脂は出るんだけれども崩れないなということを思っていたんですね。これが本当にマカデミアンナッツフィトステリルだけなのかなというのは疑問に思っていたので、今回それが長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルというものといろんなものの組み合わせですよということを、今回カネボウさんがしっかりと明確にしてくれたので、なんか私としてはすっきりしたなというふうに思っております。 プラスアルファ、クリームインデイってクリームなのになぜか塗ると化粧崩れがなくなるというのも秘密があって、実は胎脂の成分というものは膜が厚くなるらしいんですよ、これを入れると。要はクリームを塗った後にファンデーションとかを塗ると、ファンデーションがクリームの中に入って密着してくれるらしいんですね。皮脂が出たとしてもなぜか皮脂とは混ざらない膜になっているらしいんですよ。私これが不思議で、普通油って油と混ざるじゃないですか。でもこれは膜が厚いので、染み出ていかないらしいんですね。だから皮脂が出ても全部が混ざるわけじゃないから、その上にあるファンデーションも崩れないというところも分かっていて、乾燥を防ぐだけじゃなくて化粧持ちが良かったりということも、すごくクリームインデイが人気な秘訣なんだろうなというのはすごく感じました。 そんなクリームインデイとナイトなんですが、今回何がプラスされたかというと、どっちもナイアシンアミドが配合されています。あとはグリチルリチン酸ジカリウムですね、こちらが入っています。SPFも30まで上がっております。 クリームインナイトなんですが、これめちゃくちゃすごくなっていて、ナイアシンアミドは美白とあとはシワ改善というもので入っているんですよね。だからメラニンの生成を抑えて、表皮と真皮にアプローチして、シワ改善って両方取っています。こっちもすごいなと思ったのが、カネボウといえばヒアルロン酸研究もしているんですよね。今回は胎脂で保水力をしっかりさせるというところなんですが、ナイアシンアミドが入ることによって、表皮と真皮どちらにもアプローチするだけじゃなくて、カネボウのヒアルロン酸研究のテクノロジーも入っています。これには真皮のヒアルロン酸の生成を促すアクアポリン120というものと、真皮のコラーゲンの分解を抑制するというワレモコウエキス、これも入っているんですね。 ナイアシンアミドで真皮のヒアルロン酸を増やしていて、プラス胎脂の成分があるからこそ、保水もあって乾燥も改善させる。それによってハリ感まで出してくるというところになっているので、成分として豪華なのはナイトかなとは思うんですけれども、朝の化粧持ちだったりとかハリ感だったりとか、乾燥感をなくしたい、ベタベタさせたくないっていうんだったら、クリームインデイも素晴らしいし。 胎脂に似た処方は他社でも真似できるんですかっていうふうに聞いたら、長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルというものはどんな人たちでも使えるんですけども、それをベタベタさせないようにするというのはもうカネボウしかできませんというのと、成分が特定されたとしても、入れる順番とか作り方で全く違うクリームが出来上がるらしいんですよ。これこそが作っている人しか分かりません。だから絶対に真似しようがありませんって言われたんですね。 これこそがやっぱりデパコスの真髄だなと思っていて、一つの成分だけがいいんじゃなくって、成分をいくつか組み合わせた時に、どうやって配合していくかの手順すらも違うっていうからこそ、この唯一無二のテクスチャーだったりとか、仕上がり感だったりっていうのができるんだなと思ったので、一つの成分だけにフューチャーするのはいいんだけれども、素晴らしい処方だったりの技術もあるんだなと。そこにナイアシンアミドだったりとか、今までのカネボウのヒアルロン酸研究で定評のあるアクアポリンだったり、ワレモコウエキスが入っているということで、強力になったなと思うので、今まで使っていた人もよりナイアシンアミドの恩恵も受けられるし、知らない人でも使ってみたいなというふうに思っていただけるかなと思ったので、今回はご紹介しました。 余談なんですが、長鎖脂肪酸コレステリルというのがメインになって、マカデミアンナッツ脂肪酸フィトステリルだったりとか、セラミドだったりとか、あと何種類も入って、まあ数種類のコンプレックスになっているんですが、デイにはデイ用の、ナイトにはナイト用に変えているそうなんですね。だから何かが一番最初に来ているから多いとか少ないんじゃなくて、別の補正剤とかと一緒に混ぜた時に、どれが最適解かというところで見つけているとおっしゃっていたので、そこまで細かくやっているんだなというところも素晴らしいなというふうに思いました。 もちろんメインは保水なので、ニキビができている人だったりとか、毛穴が気になっているっていう人におすすめかって言われたら、そういった人以外、皮脂も気になるんだけれども乾燥感も気になるとか、乾燥肌の人にはいいクリームなんじゃないかなと思うので、ぜひそういったお悩みを持っている方はですね、チェックしていただけるといいんじゃないかなというふうに思います。 はいということで、今日は胎脂から着想を得たクリームインデイとクリームインナイトをご紹介してみました。このチャンネルではこのように美容や健康について詳しく解説していますので、この化粧品の深堀り聞きたいよっていうようなものがあれば、ぜひコメント欄に書いていただけると嬉しいです。 毎週火曜日にメンバーシップ限定のライブを配信しています。月額490円にはなりますけれども、そこでしか聞けないようなことだったりも解説しているので、よかったらメンバーシップも入っていただけると嬉しいです。ではまた次の動画でお会いしましょう。さよなら。 〈この動画の字幕は視聴者によって作成されました〉

Today, Kanebo's Cream In Day and Night have been renewed, so I want to thoroughly dig into what has changed and why these two products are so wonderful in the first place. What's new this time is that the Night version is bigger, while the Day version is a bit smaller and smoother in appearance—the look has changed. Before the renewal, they were the same size, had the same texture, and even the same packaging, with SPF included only in the Day version. Babies are surrounded by amniotic fluid, right? When a baby is born from that, they're suddenly thrust into an environment with no moisture—suddenly into a dry place. That's why babies are born covered in an oil called vernix caseosa (fetal sebum). As this gradually disappears, the dermis develops so it can withstand exposure to outside air, protecting against dryness. This vernix concept is said to be the origin of Cream In Day and Night. Even for those who don't know this background, applying it firmly in the morning provides a moisturizing feel and helps prevent dryness, which is great for people whose makeup tends to break down due to dryness. Also, mysteriously, when you apply this, your makeup lasts longer—not just for dry skin types but also for oily skin types. Plus, since it contains SPF, it's said to have a sunscreen effect too, which led to it becoming a massive hit. But as for why this happens, it was said that an ingredient called Macadamia Nut Fatty Acid Phytosteryl might be the key. Because Cream In Day became popular, this oil ingredient started being included in many other products, and on social media, people began saying that products containing Macadamia Nut Fatty Acid Phytosteryl must be similar to Cream In Day. However, it turns out the real key ingredient was actually completely different. To begin with, Kanebo's cream is called the Vernix Cream, first released in 2020. We didn't really understand what the "vernix concept" meant, so we assumed it might be Macadamia Nut Fatty Acid Phytosteryl, but it turns out that Kanebo, the company that makes this, is actually a brand that has been intensely researching vernix caseosa. It all began in 1994 when a Kanebo researcher apparently saw an article about vernix caseosa in a newspaper or something. Thinking that if something this amazing exists, it might be applicable to cosmetics, the vernix research reportedly began then. In '94, I was already an adult—how about you all? From that time, research began on the idea that vernix might be good for people with dry skin, and by 1995, they started by analyzing the differences between adult sebum and newborn vernix. Our sebum of course also protects us from dryness, but vernix is known to have a high water-retention capacity. That's why the idea was: if we can decode the components of vernix, we could not only prevent moisture evaporation but also firmly hold onto water—which would be great for people with dry skin. Incidentally, vernix is known to retain water more than three times better than adult sebum, which has a very high water-retention capacity, so that's why they started exploring this. The sebum referred to here consists of oil derived from sebaceous glands combined with intercellular lipids produced by epidermal cells—together forming what we call lipids. Sebaceous gland-derived substances include things like triglycerides, squalane, and wax esters, while substances produced by epidermal cells are mostly things like cholesterol and cholesterol esters—this was already known. Looking at what differs between adult sebum and newborn vernix, it was found that vernix contains overwhelmingly more cholesterol esters and ceramides than adult sebum. Kanebo thought about whether they could turn this cholesterol ester into a cosmetic ingredient, and starting this in 1994, by the following year or so, they turned this cholesterol ester into a cosmetic raw material. This became an ingredient called long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester. This is now an ingredient that any cosmetics company can use, but there's one key point—apparently it's extremely sticky. That's exactly why it can draw in water and protect against dryness from outside air. But if it's this sticky, putting it into a cosmetic ingredient as-is would feel really unpleasant. So, through trial and error on how to make it smooth, Kanebo—known for its exceptional emulsification technology—had already created this long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester around 1995-96, but the technology to make it into a pleasant, non-sticky cream is what makes Kanebo special. So even after creating the ingredient most abundant in vernix, since vernix isn't made of just this one thing, they blended in other ingredients to create a recipe that mimics vernix—and that became Kanebo's Cream In Day and Night. The key is combining over 10 ingredients, including this emulsified, non-sticky long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester, Macadamia Nut Fatty Acid Phytosteryl, and ceramides, to recreate the components of vernix. Isn't that amazing? So it can hold onto water while also preventing water evaporation. I've used Cream In Day and Night myself, and since I personally have oily, shiny skin, I'm not great with creams—but this Cream In Day is the one exception. When I applied it during dry periods, my makeup indeed didn't break down, and I didn't really notice getting more breakouts either. Even though I produce sebum, it didn't seem to cause my makeup to fall apart. I wondered whether this was really just due to Macadamia Nut Phytosteryl, so I'm glad that this time Kanebo clearly explained that it's actually a combination of long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester and various other ingredients—it gave me a sense of clarity. Additionally, there's a secret behind why Cream In Day, despite being a cream, somehow prevents makeup breakdown—apparently, the vernix-based ingredients create a thicker film. Essentially, when you apply foundation after this cream, the foundation gets absorbed into the cream, adhering more closely. Even when sebum is produced, it apparently doesn't mix with this film. I find this fascinating because normally oil mixes with oil, right? But because this film is thick, it doesn't seep through. So even if sebum is produced, it doesn't all mix in, which is why the foundation on top doesn't break down either. This is clearly part of why Cream In Day is so popular—not just for preventing dryness but also for helping makeup last. Now, as for what's been added to Cream In Day and Night this time—both now contain Niacinamide. They also contain Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate. The SPF has also been increased to 30. As for Cream In Night, it has become incredibly impressive—Niacinamide is included both for whitening and wrinkle improvement. It suppresses melanin production while acting on both the epidermis and dermis, addressing wrinkle improvement as well. What impressed me further is that Kanebo is also known for its hyaluronic acid research. This time, while vernix focuses on ensuring water retention, the addition of Niacinamide means it addresses both epidermis and dermis, and Kanebo's hyaluronic acid research technology is incorporated too. This includes an ingredient called Aquaporin 120, which promotes hyaluronic acid production in the dermis, and Sanguisorba (Bloodwort) Extract, which suppresses collagen breakdown in the dermis. Niacinamide increases hyaluronic acid in the dermis, and combined with the vernix-based components providing water retention, it also improves dryness—resulting in improved firmness as well. So in terms of ingredients, Night might be the more luxurious option, but if you want morning makeup longevity, firmness, and to eliminate dryness without feeling sticky, Cream In Day is wonderful too. When I asked whether this vernix-mimicking formula could be copied by other companies, I was told that while anyone can use long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester, only Kanebo can prevent it from feeling sticky. Even if the ingredients are identified, the order in which they're added and the manufacturing method create completely different creams. This is something only the manufacturer truly understands—so it's said to be absolutely impossible to copy. This, I feel, is truly the essence of department store cosmetics ("depacos")—it's not just about one good ingredient, but about how you combine several ingredients and even the sequence in which you formulate them, which creates this one-of-a-kind texture and finish. So while it's fine to focus on just one ingredient, there's also wonderful formulation technology behind it. With Niacinamide added, along with Kanebo's well-regarded Aquaporin and Sanguisorba Extract from their long-standing hyaluronic acid research, this has become even more powerful. So people who have used it before can now enjoy the benefits of Niacinamide as well, and I hope those who don't know about it yet will want to try it—that's why I introduced it today. As a side note, long-chain fatty acid cholesteryl ester is the main ingredient, combined with several others like Macadamia Nut Fatty Acid Phytosteryl and ceramides, forming a complex of several ingredients—but apparently, the formulation is adjusted differently for Day versus Night. So it's not simply about which ingredient comes first being more or less abundant; rather, when combined with other adjusting agents, they find the optimal formulation for each—which I found truly impressive, showing just how meticulous they are. Of course, the main focus is moisture retention, so if you're asking whether this is recommended for people with acne or concerns about pores, I'd say it's better suited for other types of concerns—if you're someone who's concerned about sebum but also concerned about dryness, or someone with dry skin, this could be a great cream for you.
