ドクターシーラボの新・VC100エッセンスローションを徹底分析しました。

Hello everyone! This is Arata Tomori! Today, ta-da! Here it is! A product loved by all of you—and also by me—Dr. Ceuracil's VC Essence Lotion has been renewed! I received a comment saying "Please do a deep dive into this renewal," so today I'd like to share what exactly has changed. Those of you who have been watching my channel for a while probably think "This person really loves Dr. Ceuracil's VC Essence, don't they?" And indeed, I've been using it for quite some time. It was actually first released in 2012, so about 10 years ago. Originally, Dr. Ceuracil was developed by Dr. Shirono with the concept of creating a vitamin C product that could even be used after laser treatments. Since it's typically difficult to apply vitamin C after laser treatment due to skin sensitivity, the concept was to create a low-irritation vitamin C that still works effectively, while also incorporating moisturizing ingredients. This is how VC100 came to be—I believe I've mentioned this in a previous video as well. The main ingredient in this product is APPS, known as a stable form of vitamin C. In the ingredient list, it appears as "Ascorbyl Palmitate Phosphate 3Na" or similar—that's APPS. There are various vitamin C derivatives. Pure vitamin C has high efficacy and fast action, but it's also prone to breaking down. Because of this, most brands formulate vitamin C as a derivative. Among derivatives, some are water-soluble with fast action, while others blend with sebum for slower, gradual penetration. APPS is unique in that it has both properties—it dissolves in both water and oil—giving it both quick action and lasting effects, while also being able to penetrate deep into the skin. This is why it's called a next-generation vitamin C. APPS is said to penetrate cell membranes more easily than typical vitamin C derivatives, so it's expected to boost collagen and elastin production deep within the skin. Additionally, since vitamin C works to lighten dark melanin, it's also expected to provide brightening and whitening effects. In addition to APPS, which was already included, this renewal adds another type of vitamin C: 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, which is known as a highly penetrating type of vitamin C. Typically, vitamin C derivatives are broken down by enzymes on the skin once applied, and it's through this breakdown that the vitamin C becomes active. However, in some cases, this enzymatic action can actually destroy the vitamin C. This highly penetrating vitamin C, on the other hand, isn't broken down by skin enzymes, so it can reach deep into the skin without being destroyed. In other words, while APPS itself already penetrates deep into the skin, adding this highly penetrating vitamin C—which resists breakdown by skin enzymes—means the vitamin C's effectiveness can now reach even deeper. And they've doubled the concentration compared to before, which is honestly pretty impressive. To be honest, when vitamin C concentration doubles, it often comes with a price increase or a change in texture. But the number one reason I loved this VC Essence was that, despite being a vitamin C lotion, it has a nice viscosity and provides solid moisturizing. When I heard about the renewal, I understood the concentration had doubled, but I worried the texture might have changed as a result. However, that wasn't the case at all—it retained the same rich, viscous texture as before. Can you see it? That texture that instantly brightens the skin remains unchanged. So there was no situation where the ingredients improved but the usage experience became unpleasant, which is a relief for those of you who love this product. This renewal isn't just about doubling the vitamin C, though. This VC Essence Lotion actually also contains niacinamide, which many of you are probably familiar with for its whitening effects and its use in wrinkle-improving products. In this product, it's included for its whitening properties. Niacinamide is said to improve cellular metabolism, and this improved metabolism helps expel excess melanin, contributing to a whitening effect. Apparently, the niacinamide content has also been increased in this renewal. So it's not just that the existing APPS has increased—a new type of vitamin C that penetrates deep into the skin without being blocked by skin enzymes has been added, and niacinamide has been increased as well. This really is a significant power-up. I thought the price might have increased, so I checked the website, but it turned out to be exactly the same price.
