このね顔の疑似セラミドが含まれている化粧品とかだったら ちょっととろっとした化粧水だったりとかと乳液 あと美容液っていう意味で油分というかとろみがあるようなイメージあると思うんですね キュレルも結構そうじゃないですか でこれ何でかっていうとそもそもこのセラミド まあ疑似セラミドっていうのは常温で固体の成分なんですね ということは油には溶けるんですけども水には溶けないという性質があるんです だから化粧品に入れる時には油性の成分の中 だからやっぱり美容液だったりとかクリームとか乳液みたいなものに入れないと 固まってしまうというかその溶けないということになるんですね なのでみずみずしくてシャバシャバしたようなテクスチャーのものには そもそも入れづらいというものがあったそうなんです じゃあ固体だからどうやって乳液とかに入れてるかっていうと 他の油性成分を入れてサンドイッチにするような感じ 疑似セラミドと他の油性成分とサンドイッチにする 要はサンドイッチにすることによって層を作ってそれで溶けるような感じにしてたんですね なのでさっき言ったみたいにどうしても乳液だったりとか美容液にしか入れられなかったんですよ でも皆さんこれ使ったことあります? やっぱり洗顔とか拭き取りだ ったりとか 粉系ですよね 毛穴をぼかすみたいな感じだったりしたら そういったものだと思うんですが バームで毛穴をケアするって考えたことあります? そうなんですよ 今日ご紹介するのは驚きの新感覚と 皮脂テカの人の毛穴にも そして乾燥肌の毛穴の人にも どっちにもいいよっていうもので この商品一言で表すと何かっていうのが ちょっとなかなか言えないので 今日は本当に最後まで ぜひぜひ見ていただきたいと思います ではさっきが前置きが長いよ 何だよっていうのはですね こちらです キュレルの湿潤保湿パウダーバーム保湿クリームになります 最初に見た時に私には正直関係のない商品だと思ったんですね これがパッケージなんですけど 不快接触を防ぐって書いてあるんですね 不快接触を防ぐ敏感肌のためにって書いてあるので 要は不快接触って 髪の毛とかがこういうところについた時に 気持ち悪いみたいに感じるのを不快接触って言って 特に敏感肌の方っていうのは バリア機能が低下しているから ちょっとした髪の毛だったりとか お洋服の素材とかで痒みがあるよっていう方が多いので そういう方に向けて美肌の膜をすることによって そういう気持ち悪さっていうか 不快感をなくすよっていう感じなので 私みたいに非敏感肌の人には あんまり関係ない製品だなって 正直思ってたんですね バームって書いてあるし きっとベタっとするのかな でもベタっとしたらどうして 髪の毛とかがつくものをサラサラにするのかなって よくわかんないなと思いながら使ってみたところ 何これって一番最初に言ったんですね っていうのも画像でわかるかなと思うんですが これ出すじゃないですか こういう真っ白なバームなんですね 伸ばしていきますよね そうすると普通これってベタベタしそうじゃないですか 全然ベタベタしてないんですね 見てください びっくりしない? さっきのあんな真っ白なバターみたいだったのに 全然ベタベタしないどころか スプレータイプの化粧水をかけても ちょっとね弾いてるんですよ すごくない? まあもちろん油だから弾いてるっていうのもあると思うんですけど めちゃめちゃ表面サラサラしてるの 確かにこの辺につけたりすると 絶対に髪の毛とかくっついて ベタってならないだろうなって思うんですけれども このサラサラ感すっごく気持ちよくって 非敏感肌の私でもこの辺に塗りたくなるようなものになっています これなんでそういうふうになってるかっていうと よく見るとここにですね セラミドケアのパウダー処方って書いてあるんですよ キュレルといえば疑似セラミドですよね この疑似セラミドプラスユーカリエキスっていうものを 一緒に入れることで セラミド機能物質っていうふうに言うんですね それをパウダー化しているっていうことなんですよ どういうことちゃって思いますよね もともとこの疑似セラミド自体 固い固体なんですよね 固い固体を化粧水に入れる時には いろんな乳化の方法とかを使って ああいうパシャパシャな化粧水にしたりとか あとはこういうスプレーに入れる時には 結晶化しないような状態で 圧をかけたりとかして入れることによって スプレーでシュッといくっていうようなことをしているんですが 今回はですねパウダーにしているんですね 細かくすればパウダーになるじゃんっていうふうに 思うと思うんですが それだけで肌に入れるとあんまり意味がなくって 粉状にしていると肌に膜を貼るのが なかなかできないじゃないですか 液体にすると保湿はできるけれども 粉感がない 粉にしちゃうと保湿が少ないっていうことで 間を取ってバーム状にしたっていうふうに おっしゃってたんですね 粉もいっぱい入れられるし 油分というか保湿の成分もいっぱい入れられるのが やっぱバーム状だったらしいんですよ ベースになっているのが ジメチコンっていう油だったりするんですが その他スクワランだったりとか グリセリンだったりとか そういう保湿の効果もしっかりあるんだけれども なぜかこんなにサラサラしてるのは 粉体と油分のバランスが もう本当に絶妙な処方の妙だなと思うんですね さっきから私が粉体粉体と言ってるんですけれども 実はこの粉体はですね シリカと硫酸バリウムっていうもので 主にシリカが入ってるんですよ このシリカがポイントで シリカって皆さんよくご存知だと思うんですけれども 皮脂を吸着したりとかするって言って 穴がいっぱい空いてるようなものですよね 穴が空いてるところに 疑似セラミドが入っているんですよ 実はセラミドっていうのは 結晶化してると肌にやっぱり浸透しにくいので 結晶化してない状態で 存在させるっていうことがすごくポイントで 疑似セラミドを結晶化させないような 大きさで入れてるっていうのが スプレータイプなんですが シリカもいろんな種類があって 大きい穴が空いてるものから 小さい穴が空いてるものでも いっぱいあるんですけど ちょうどこの疑似セラミドが 結晶化しないような大きさのシリカを選んできて その穴の中に 疑似セラミドが入っているっていうこと それが肌に触れるじゃないですか 皮脂がシリカの中に入ると 疑似セラミドがファーっと外に出ていくので いらない皮脂は吸着してくれるんだけれども 保湿のセラミドっていうのは 顔の全体に行く それも結晶化されてないから 通常の化粧水とかよりも 浸透率っていうのが高くなってるっていうことなんですよ めちゃめちゃすごくないですか 乾燥肌とか敏感肌の人も 皮脂があることによって かぶれてしまうっていうこともあるので 皮脂吸着だけをしちゃうと乾燥しちゃう だからこそ皮脂もちゃんと吸着するんだけれども バリア機能の神の目である セラミドもちゃんと補給したいっていうことで このパウダーバームっていうのが生まれている それもシリカを入れてるんだけれども このシリカの穴の大きさにもこだわって もともと結晶化している セラミドが結晶化しないような大きさにあえてして それを油分と一緒に入れることによって 余分な皮脂は吸着するんだけれども 保湿感はしっかりする だけども表面はサラサラで いろんなものがくっついても 不快感を感じないっていう どれをメインに話したらいいのかが分からないぐらい こうね素晴らしい商品になっているなと思います 私は本当に化粧下地みたいな感じで使ってます 小鼻だったりとか やっぱり鼻翼のところって やっぱ油が結構出るんですよね やっぱりもう46にもなると ちょっと乾燥もしてくるので そういった時には全然これ乾燥しないし でも油分もしっかり吸ってくれるんですよね あと私はクリニックに勤めているので マスクをしなくちゃいけないんですけども マスクの擦れとかにも結構強いので マスクの中で皮脂は多いんだけれども 乾燥しちゃって痒みが出るっていう人にも めちゃくちゃおすすめかなと思いますし そもそも敏感肌で 皮脂の吸着系は使いたくないんだけれども ちょっと一部テカるところがあるよっていう方にも すごくいいのかなと思うので いろんな方向性の方にすごくおすすめだし 触ってみた時のこのサラサラ感 ずっと自分の肌を触って痛くなるんですよ これ本当にすごいなって思いました でも何ていう商品ですって言えばいいのかが もう未だに分からなくて 技術としても本当に素晴らしいし バーム状なのに なんでこんなにベタベタしないのか 皮脂を吸着するシリカが入っているのに セラミドが入っているからなんでしょうけど 本当にしっとりするっていう キツネにつままれたような製品なので これからの時期ね 皮脂も気になるし乾燥も気になるっていう方には おすすめですし マスクをしている方にも本当におすすめなので 騙されたと思って一回塗ってほしい 私は本当に化粧下地として使っているんですけれども いろんな使い方ができると思うので こう言って使ってますよっていう人はですね ぜひぜひコメント欄に 書いていただければいいんじゃないかなと思います 本当に何回も言うんですけど 皮脂テカの人も乾燥肌の人も 不快感がなくなるんじゃないかなと さすがやっぱりキュレルさん 肌に対する不快感をなくすっていうことに 全力を注いでいるブランドさんならではの どういう商品とは言い表せない 素晴らしい商品だなと思いました はいということで今日はですね 本当に熱く語ってしまいましたが やっぱり私もね頭でっかちになってて バームとか不快接触とかって書いてるけど 自分には関係ないって思うんですけれども 1回は使ってみるってことすごい大事だなって 今回は自分自身もとても勉強になりました 今日はですね皆さんからもリクエストの多かった こちらキュレルのリニューアルの化粧水について 深掘りしていこうと思います もうね私ね最強のリニューアルだなというふうに 思っております 7月発売のところでちらっとご紹介して すごいですよみたいに言ったら深掘りしてください みたいなことが多かったので ちょっとね遅くなっちゃったんですけれども これがなぜすごいかを深掘りしていこうと思うんですが まず皆さんキュレルって言ったら何を思い出しますか? そうキュレルってのはセラミドケアですよね 敏感肌の人乾燥肌の人っていうのは 自分でねセラミド作ることが少ないので それでバリア機能が低下して乾燥したりとか 刺激を受けやすくなったら髪が出るから 乾燥肌の人だったりはしっかりと セラミド入れていきましょう それの一番の代表的なものって言ったら キュレルですよねっていうふうに 皆さん思っていた方多いと思います キュレルシリーズ化粧水乳液 クリームバームみたいにあるんですけれども しっかりとそれでセラミドしっかり入れていきましょう というふうに思っていた方多いですよね そこでですね実は皆さんすいません 今までのキュレルの化粧水には セラミド入っていなかったんですよ えっ先生どういうこと?って思うと思うんですが 花王さんのセラミドっていうのは 疑似セラミドという花王さん独自のセラミドになっています セラミドにもいろいろあって 人型セラミドとか植物セラミドっていうふうに あるんですけれども 花王さんっていうのはもう本当に敏感肌だったりとか もうその乾燥肌をすごく研究していて やっぱりこのセラミドっていうのがとても必要だと でも人型セラミドみたいな 本当に保湿も高い効果があるんだけれども そういったセラミドをたっぷり入れようとすると とてもコストが高くなってしまう なので敏感肌だったりとか そういう乾燥肌の人にはたっぷりセラミド使ってほしいので 人型セラミドたっぷり入れちゃうとお値段高くなる だからお値段を少し下げるように そのセラミドを自分たちで大量に作れるような技術で作ったのが 花王独自の疑似セラミドになります もちろん人型セラミドもいいんですけども たっぷり入れるっていうところで 花王さんはキュレルにもそれをしっかりと入れているんですね でもセラミドっていうのは 人型セラミドも疑似セラミドもなんですが 結構お水には溶けないんですよ どちらかというと油に溶けやすくて 溶かしても結晶化といって結構つぶつぶになったりとか ベタベタしてしまうっていうようなことがあります なのでそういうことから今までセラミド入れるっていうと 化粧水に入れるとしたら少し少量になる もしくは乳液とかクリームとか そういったものに入れていることになります なのでキュレルっていうと敏感肌用のものになるので やっぱりベタつくとかそういったものは 好みじゃない方も多いので そういった意味で花王さんっていうのは こちらにあるのはバームなんですけど クリームとかバームにはセラミドがたっぷり入っていたんですが 今までの化粧水っていうのには入っていなかったんです じゃあ何が入っていたかっていうと ユーカリエキスといって セラミドの酸性をサポートするような成分が入っているので 化粧水を使ってそれでクリームとか乳液を使って セラミドをケアしていきましょうねっていうことだったんですね でもやっぱり日本人って化粧水すごく好きじゃないですか なので化粧水にもたっぷりセラミドは入れられないかっていうのを ずっとずっと研究していたのが花王さんなんですね そこでパッと思いつくのが ちょっと前にキュレルのスプレーがすごい みたいな動画出したんじゃないでしたっけ セラミド入ってるって言いませんでしたっけ って声が聞こえてきそうなんですが このキュレルのスプレータイプの化粧水 これには実はセラミドが入ってるんですね でじゃあこれはどうしたかっていうと まずセラミドをですね ベシクル化といって カプセル状にしてお水に溶けやすくして 特殊な機械に入れて それをスプレーに細かくして入れるようになりました スプレーにはできてるのにって思うかもしれないんですが スプレーってシューって出るじゃないですか だからあれでずーっとやってると ちょっとねベタベタまでは行かないんですけども 多分あれをお水にすると ちょっとねベタつきとかがあると思うんですよね なのでベシクル化して圧をかけるっていうまでは 言ったんですけど スプレーじゃないとやっぱりテクスチャーだったり っていう問題もあったんだと思います あれが確か2020年に出たと思うので あれから3年もっともっと技術を開発していって ベシクル化って言って カプセル状にするのを もっともっともっともっと小さーくすることに こぎつけられたんですね それによってセラミドを化粧水に入れてもですね ちゃんと結晶化しないし あとベタつきもないっていうようになりました でもう一つ嬉しいのが 今まではスプレータイプだったので 化粧水タイプでも他の成分は入れられなかったし あとは特殊な圧をかけるので あんまり大量生産できなかったんですよね なので一時期あのスプレータイプのやつが 売り切れてたりとかしたの覚えてますか? それぐらいすっごく大量に作るのは 難しかったんですけども 今回のまた新しいこの 細かくするベシクル化によって ちゃんと機械を使わなくても 化粧水に入れることができたし でもう一つはキュレルの化粧水には さっき言ったユーカリエキスって言って 私たちの細胞がセラミドを作るのを 促してくれるような成分だったりとか あともう一つはアラントインと言って 炎症を抑える成分が入っています セラミドのような成分も入ってるんですね。これがスプレータイプには実は入れられてなかったんですよ。なんですが今回また新しい技術を入れることによって、見た目はね正直何にも変わってないような感じがすると思うんですけれども、たっぷりとセラミドが入っている。シマメドと同じように、アラントインで高い抗炎症作用ですね。プラスアルファでユーカリエキスで、自分のうるおいをセラミドを作れるようにっていうのもできています。これね簡単そうに言うかもしれないんですけども、確かキュレルで2000年ぐらいできてると思うんで、もう20年近くかけてやっとこちらに入れられるっていうことなんですよね。正直ちょっとだけ入れて『入れました』よっていうことは言えたと思うんですけれども、やっぱりそこは敏感肌だったりとかっていうことを考えてるキュレルさんだからこそ、ちょっとだけじゃダメだし、ちゃんと保湿をするっていう意味での大量に入れられるっていうことと、あとはテクスチャーにもすごくこだわったんだと思うんですよね。確かにアトピーの人だったりとか、アトピー敏感肌の人ってちょっとでもベトついたりするとかなりそれでまた痒みを起こしちゃったりするんですね。ちょっと話が逸れちゃうんですけれども、例えば私もクリニックでアトピーの方見ていて、お薬を出す時に『クリームタイプと軟膏タイプどちらがいいですか？』って言った時に、軟膏タイプだとベタベタするから『クリームタイプとかローションタイプでサラッとしたものを出してください』っていう方多いんですよ。同じお薬でもそういって、ちょっとテクスチャーが違うだけで痒みを助長してしまって、またかいてしまって、それで炎症が起こってしまうっていう、やっぱり敏感肌だったりとかアトピーの方っていうのは、ちょっとしたことだけでもやっぱりそういう風に悪化しちゃうことがあるので、やっぱりテクスチャーってめちゃめちゃ大切なんですよね。なのでそういったテクスチャーまですごく考えて入れてきたっていうのは、本当に素晴らしいことだなと思います。なので本当に乾燥肌の人は化粧水、乳液、クリーム、もしくはバームとかを使って欲しいんですけれども、結構夏のインナードライとか、皮脂は出るんだけれども、夏のエアコンとかで乾燥して、結構ドライになっちゃってるだけれども油は出ちゃうっていう方には、意外とこの化粧水のこれね『ややしっとり』『しっとり』『とてもしっとり』の3タイプあるんですよね。なので結構敏感肌の人はこの2番の『しっとり』を使って、目周りとかにクリームとかを塗るだけでも、かなり保湿になっていいんじゃないかなと思います。もちろん乾燥肌の人はこれにちゃんと乳液とかクリーム入れた方がいいと思うんですが、油は自分で出してるんだけれども潤いがちょっと足りないっていう人は、もしかしたらこの化粧水だけでもいいんじゃないかなと思ったりもします。結構アラントインっていうのは炎症も抑えてくれるので、ニキビの人っていうのは油を入れてしまうと、それによってコメドができてニキビが悪化するっていう方もいらっしゃるので、そういった意味では、アラントインで炎症も抑えながら、セラミドで油分とかがあんまり含まれていないので、しっかりとこれで保湿をするっていうのもいいんじゃないかなと思うので、もちろん乾燥肌の人だったりとか敏感肌の人もそうですけれども、さっき言ったニキビ肌の人、あとは夏になってインナードライになっている人っていうのも、今までの『ややしっとり』じゃなくて『しっとり』とか『もっとしっとり』を選んで、それで保湿をしてあげるっていうのもすごくいいんじゃないかなと思います。はい、ということで今日はキュレルの深掘りをしました。なんかね、ぱっと言うと、本当に簡単そうに聞こえると思うんですけれども、私ね、これがちょっとよく分からなくて、キュレルの方に連絡したんですよ。どういうことですかっていうと、試行錯誤をしてミセル化を小さくするっていうのは本当に簡単そうに聞こえるかもしれないんですけど、めちゃくちゃ大変でしたっていう、熱いですね、ことを教えてもらいました。ただあまりにも私もすごいなと思ったのと、あとはやっぱりどういうふうにするかっていうのは、絶妙なバランスらしいんですよね。これって研究者の方も『絶妙なバランスとしか言いようがなく』何回も何回も実験というかこの試作を作りましたっていうふうに言っていて、『やっとできたことが嬉しいです』っておっしゃっていたので、本当に研究者さんの思いと、そしてやっぱり敏感肌の方にセラミドをたっぷり使ってもらいたいっていう気持ちの表れなんじゃないかなと思うので、これを塗る時には、研究者さんの努力が反映されてるんだわと思って、使っていただけると嬉しいです。

Hello everyone, I'm Arata Tomori. Today is a comprehensive Curel roundup video. Curel really releases a lot of amazing items, so I wanted to compile them all together in response to your requests. I've condensed everything into this video, and by watching it, you'll understand everything about Curel, so please enjoy it to the end. Please watch. You all know Curel, right? It's a brand with a blue package made for sensitive skin, and many of you have probably used it when you had a bit of skin irritation. Originally, what kind of brand is Curel? The key to barrier function is that within the stratum corneum, the keratin cells are properly stuck together, and by properly layering them, the barrier function is properly formed. For the barrier function to be maintained in its normal state, ceramide—a component I love—is important. Of course, we've been thinking about this all along. Long ago, human ceramide and natural ceramides were extremely expensive, so we couldn't add large quantities. However, Curel wanted to provide affordable ceramide for sensitive skin in large amounts, so Kao, the parent company, developed their own pseudo-ceramides. By adding plenty of them, they fill the spaces between keratin cells with ceramide and maintain proper barrier function. This is the basic premise of Curel. So I often use Curel for various purposes, but in a video where I said I had used up all of these products, I introduced what's called Curel Penetrating Moisturizing Deep Moisture Spray. At that time, I only said things like, "This is amazing because it contains ceramide and it's a spray, how cool!" Of course, what's in this contains pseudo-ceramide, but there's a small note here saying "Refined ceramide functional ingredients penetrate deep into the skin, and one spray gives you moisturized, soft skin," with a Micro Moisture formula noted. I thought, "Well, I suppose," but apparently this spray took over 7 years to develop. Surprising, right? How did I find out about this? Actually, on July 6th, a new Curel sheet mask for preventing skin roughness was released. It's already available online. I thought, "Wait, didn't Curel already have a sheet mask?" I always thought it did, so when I saw "new release," I thought, "What's new about this?" and bought it. Apparently, it's their very first sheet mask. I wondered why they were releasing a sheet mask for the first time, so I researched it, and I found that there's some incredible technology involved. Before reaching this technology, these two products use the same manufacturing method, and this one was commercialized first. So I discovered how amazing Curel is, and I thought I'd like to explain this in detail today. What image do you have of ceramide? If it's a cosmetic with pseudo-ceramide in it for the face, you probably imagine a slightly thick toner or emulsion, or a serum with an oily, viscous feel. Curel is pretty much like that too. Why is that? Because the pseudo-ceramide itself is a solid component at room temperature, which means it dissolves in oil but not in water. So when adding it to cosmetics, it needs to be in an oily base—you really can't add it to things like serums, creams, or emulsions without it solidifying or not dissolving. So it's inherently difficult to add to a watery, thin-textured product. So how do they add it to emulsions? They add other oily components and create a sandwich effect—pairing the pseudo-ceramide with other oily components. By creating this sandwich layer, they make it dissolve. So as I said, it could only be added to emulsions or serums. But have you used this? See how it comes out as water? That shouldn't normally be possible. I was using this normally without realizing it, but to do this requires considerable technology. The technology used is called Vesicle technology. What is Vesicle, you ask? Well, as I said before, it creates layers. If you make layers as a sandwich like I mentioned, you can only make emulsions and such. But for sensitive skin people, even touching can be irritating, so the spray type was desired. Also, people wanted to be able to moisturize not just the face but the whole body easily in a short time. So they wanted a spray type. To make it a spray type, you first need to make this ceramide very, very, very small and dissolve it in water. How did they do this? The Vesicle technology works like a drug delivery system. Rather than just improving penetration, it encapsulates ceramide into spheres and suspends them in water like floating. Since ceramide is a solid and an oily component as I mentioned, it floats around. But if it's just floating like that, it won't spray out like this. So Vesicle formulation plus this technology—making ceramide into very, very small particles—both technologies were necessary for this spray to be born. This is sold normally, and I think it was last year, so I had no idea. I just thought "This is great, easy spray" and used it normally. But when I thought about it properly, I realized "That's right," so I contacted Kao. I asked, "What's going on here?" and they told me that this actually took a long time to develop. I was moved by this and thought I absolutely had to share this with everyone, which is why I'm speaking so passionately. So really, ceramide is very important for sensitive skin people, and I often tell people who have mask-related skin irritation or itching all over their body to properly supplement ceramide. The most moisturizing would be human ceramides or further nanoized versions of them, but then the price gets high. But we thought that at an affordable price, not just the face but the whole body could be moisturized. Considering both the price and the consumer, it was made. For us, it might have just seemed like they made water into a spray, but the researchers' technology is embedded in it. When I heard that, I was genuinely moved and wanted to share this feeling with everyone. I'd like to introduce a recommended sheet mask. Here it is: Curel Mask A. You might be hearing "Curel" too much, but did you know Curel's first-ever sheet mask just came out? I thought it was just a regular sheet mask with ceramide for moisturizing, but when I researched it more, I found that various technologies and thoughtfulness went into it, so I'd like to introduce it. Please watch to the end. Originally, sensitive skin people complained that when they use sheet masks, they feel stinging or prickling sensations. Since the Curel series is also a brand for sensitive skin, they make toners, emulsions, and various products, but that's one reason why a sheet mask wasn't made for a while. Another reason is that people with sensitive skin have a dry base to begin with, and they wanted just a bit more moisture. So they wanted to be able to offer both comfort and high moisturization for those with sensitive skin who can use it safely. That's where the development of this sheet mask began. When we say Curel, we mean ceramide, specifically pseudo-ceramide. However, while ceramide is good, the ceramide component itself has the property of dissolving in oil—it dissolves easily in oily things. If only a little ceramide is added, it becomes toner-like. But for high moisturization, you need to add a lot of ceramide, right? Then you also have to add a lot of oil. Sensitive skin people often get itching when oil becomes sticky. Moisturizing with water while creating a thin oil barrier is what sensitive skin people prefer. So we want a lot of ceramide, but we don't want a lot of oil. We don't want to add too much oil, make it sticky, and make sensitive skin people not want to use it. To prevent this, what was developed is Vesicle formulation. What is Vesicle formulation? It's a type of drug delivery system. Drug delivery systems encapsulate things and deliver them to the skin. Normally, ceramide isn't added with Vesicle formulation. As I said, since it dissolves in oil, it's usually added as an oil-water-ceramide millefeuille, making it an oily product. But with Vesicle formulation, by encapsulating ceramide in a capsule, you can float ceramide-containing capsules in water. This way, you don't need to add unnecessary oil, so sensitive skin people don't get sticky or have unnecessary oil added. It's quite a difficult technology. This is truly something only Curel, with their long-term ceramide research, could do. Since it contains more ceramide than conventional emulsions, and since it's applied as a sheet mask, the water content of the stratum corneum increases easily. However, even people who don't like the somewhat stickiness of emulsions will have a water-rich texture thanks to the Vesicle formulation, so in that sense, moisture keeps going in—it becomes that kind of product. Another thing is the sheet itself. Sensitive skin people don't like prickling sensations from the sheet, so some people don't want to use sheet masks at all. So they considered what kind of sheet would be okay for sensitive skin and made one. Both stickiness and fluffiness are bad for sensitive skin people—they create irritation. Of course, they've chosen a sheet with a gentle feel on the skin, but there's another thing. Gaps often form, right? Around the nose, under the eyes—gaps form. Your eyes, the area around your nose, and your mouth are the driest areas. You want to treat them well with a sheet mask, but when it doesn't fit, you end up adding something else to where you need it most. To prevent this, there's an extra piece of sheet. There's something called a "Care Sheet" that comes with it. You can cut off the protruding part and apply it under your eyes or around your nose to fill in gaps, ensuring care reaches everywhere you want it. Isn't that amazing? Thanks to the Vesicle formulation, with high-concentration ceramide suspending in water rather than oil, the sheet is designed so that ceramide reaches into every corner directly. I thought that was wonderful. As I mentioned, it's for sensitive skin, but since Vesicle formulation uses less oil, it says non-comedogenic formulation. So it's not just for sensitive skin. Non-comedogenic means it's unlikely to cause acne. That is, Vesicle formulation suppresses oil and increases water, so people with dehydrated skin who also get acne—if they use an oily sheet mask, acne forms. So I think this sheet mask is good for people who are worried about that. It suits sensitive skin with dryness, but also people with dehydrated acne-prone skin where the inside is dry but the surface is oily. It might work for both types. Up until now, summer has often brought dryness only in certain areas due to mask wear, but going forward, the outside temperature will drop and humidity will decrease, so overall dryness will appear. Then truly sensitive skin people will become more sensitive, and people with dehydrated skin will experience further dehydration. I thought this definitely existed before, but surprisingly, this newly released Curel sheet mask is a sheet mask that suits both types of skin—both the sensitive type and the dehydrated-with-acne type. And I was moved because it's truly a formulation unique to Curel, who researches ceramides and sensitive skin, so I wanted to share it with everyone. Today, I'd like to introduce a surprising product. When you think of pore care, what do you imagine? Probably cleansing and wiping... Or powders, things that blur pores, that sort of thing. But have you ever thought about caring for pores with a balm? That's right. What I'm introducing today has a surprising new sensation and works well for pores of people with oily, shiny skin, and also works well for people with dry skin pores—it's something that works well for both. When I try to describe this product in one sentence, it's actually quite difficult to express, so I really hope you'll watch until the very end today. So, just as I was saying before, the introduction was long, what is this anyway? Well, it's this—Curel's Moisture-Retentive Moisture Powder Balm Moisturizing Cream. When I first saw it, honestly I thought it was a product unrelated to me. This is the packaging, and it says "prevents uncomfortable contact," right? It says "prevents uncomfortable contact for sensitive skin," so in other words, uncomfortable contact is when hair or something gets on this area and you feel icky—that's what they call uncomfortable contact. Especially for people with sensitive skin, since their barrier function is impaired, many people experience itching from just hair or the texture of clothing fabric. So for those people, by applying a beautiful skin membrane, they're saying this eliminates that icky feeling or discomfort. So for someone like me who isn't sensitive skin, honestly I thought this was a product unrelated to me. It says balm, so I thought it would probably be sticky. But if it's sticky, why would it make hair and such feel smooth? I didn't quite understand, but when I tried using it, the very first thing I said was "What is this?" As you can probably see from the image, when you squeeze this out, you get this white balm, right? You spread it out, right? So normally this looks like it would be sticky, doesn't it? But it's not sticky at all, you see? Isn't it surprising? Even though it was this white butter-like substance just now, it's not sticky at all. In fact, when you spray water-type toner on it, it actually repels it, you know? Isn't that amazing? Well, of course because it's oil it repels it, I think, but the surface is incredibly smooth. Certainly when I apply it to this area, hair definitely wouldn't stick and it wouldn't get sticky at all, but this smooth feel is so pleasant that even non-sensitive-skin me wants to apply it to this area. So why does it become like this? If you look closely, it says "Ceramide Care Powder Formula" right here. When you think of Curel, you think of pseudo-ceramides, right? By putting this pseudo-ceramide together with eucalyptus extract, they call it a ceramide functional substance. And they're making it into powder form. What does that mean? Well, originally this pseudo-ceramide itself is a hard solid, right? When you put a hard solid into toner, you use various emulsification methods to make it into those splashy toner types, or when you put it into spray like this, you apply pressure to prevent crystallization and put it in so that the spray goes "pshhh." But this time they're making it into powder. You might think, "Well, if you make it finer, it becomes powder, right?" But if you just put powder on skin, it doesn't mean much. When it's in powder form, you can't really create a membrane on the skin, can you? When it's liquid you can moisturize, but there's no powder feel. When you make it powder you get less moisturization, so they said they compromised and made it balm-form. With balm form you can include a lot of powder and also include a lot of moisturizing components. The base is an oil called dimethicone, but it also contains squalane and glycerin and has good moisturizing effects, but the reason it's somehow this smooth is because the balance between powder and oil is truly exquisitely formulated. I keep saying powder, powder, but actually this powder is made mainly of silica and barium sulfate, with silica being the main ingredient. Silica is the key point. As you probably all know, silica absorbs sebum and has lots of pores, right? Pseudo-ceramides are placed in those pores. Actually, ceramides, when crystallized, are hard to penetrate the skin, so keeping them in a non-crystallized state is really the key point. Pseudo-ceramides are placed in sizes that prevent crystallization—that's what the spray type is, but silica comes in many varieties with large pores and small pores and all kinds. They specifically selected silica with pores just the right size so that these pseudo-ceramides don't crystallize, and pseudo-ceramide is placed in those pores. When that touches your skin, when sebum enters the silica, the pseudo-ceramide goes "whoosh" to the outside, so unwanted sebum gets absorbed, but the ceramide for moisturization goes all over the face. And since it's not crystallized, its penetration rate is higher than regular toner, you know? Isn't that incredibly amazing? Even people with dry skin or sensitive skin can develop irritation from having sebum, so if you only absorb sebum you'll get dry. That's exactly why they properly absorb sebum but also want to properly supply ceramide, which is the god-like substance for barrier function, and that's how this powder balm was created. They put in silica too, but they paid attention to the size of these silica pores—specifically they made the size such that ceramide, which originally crystallizes, wouldn't crystallize, and by putting it in together with oil, excess sebum gets absorbed but you still get good moisturization, and the surface is smooth so things don't stick even if they touch it, and you don't feel uncomfortable. It's such a wonderful product that I don't even know which part to focus on when explaining. I really use it like a primer. The small nose area, the side of the nose especially, produces quite a lot oil, you know? And at 46 you start to get some dryness too, so at those times this doesn't dry at all but it really absorbs the oil well. Also, I work at a clinic so I have to wear a mask, and it's quite resistant to mask rubbing. There's lots of sebum inside the mask but it gets dry and causes itching—I think it's really recommended for those people too. And for people who have sensitive skin and don't want to use sebum-absorbing products but have a bit of shine in one area, I think it's really good. So it's really recommended for people in all sorts of situations, and this smooth feel when you touch it, you'll keep touching your own skin and it feels so good. I really thought this was amazing. But I still don't know how to describe what this product is. The technology is really wonderful, and even though it's balm-form, why doesn't it feel sticky at all? Even though it contains silica that absorbs sebum, and ceramide, it really moisturizes. It's such a fox-tricking kind of product that I'm completely baffled, so for this time of year when you're concerned about both sebum and dryness, it's recommended. And for people wearing masks it's really recommended, so I'd say try it even if you're skeptical. I really use it as a primer, but I think there are all kinds of ways to use it, so if there are people who use it in a certain way, please write about it in the comments section. I really say this many times, but people with oily, shiny skin and people with dry skin—the discomfort might go away. After all, Curel really is a brand that puts all its effort into eliminating discomfort with skin. It's such a wonderful product that can't be described as any particular thing. So yes, today I really got heated in my explanation, but I realize I too can get caught up in just thinking about it—seeing words like balm and uncomfortable contact written on it but thinking it's unrelated to me. Actually, trying it once is such an important thing. This time I learned a lot myself too. Today I'm going to dive deep into this Curel reformulated toner that you've been requesting a lot. I really think it's the ultimate reformulation. In July we introduced it briefly and said how amazing it is, so a lot of people were like "Please go into more detail," so it took a while, but let me dive into why this is so amazing. First of all, when people say Curel, what comes to mind? Right, Curel is ceramide care, right? People with sensitive skin and dry skin don't make much ceramide themselves, so their barrier function becomes impaired, they get dry, and they become prone to irritation—that's why people with dry skin should properly apply ceramide. And the most representative thing for that would be Curel, right? That's what many of you probably thought. The Curel series includes toner, emulsion, cream, balm, and such, so you should properly apply ceramide with those things—that's what many of you thought, right? But actually, I apologize everyone, but up until now, Curel's toner didn't have ceramide in it. Huh? Doctor, what do you mean? You probably think. But Kao's ceramide is a pseudo-ceramide, which is Kao's original ceramide. There are various types of ceramides—human-type ceramides, plant-derived ceramides, and such. Kao has really extensively researched sensitive skin and dry skin, and they recognized that this ceramide is really necessary. But human-type ceramides really have high moisturizing effects, but if you try to put a lot of ceramides like that in, the cost becomes very high. So that people with sensitive skin and dry skin can use plenty of ceramides, if you put in a lot of human-type ceramides the price goes up. So to keep the price down somewhat, they created what Kao could produce in large quantities using their own technology—Kao's original pseudo-ceramide. Of course human-type ceramides are fine too, but because they wanted to include plenty, Kao properly puts them in Curel too. But ceramides, both human-type and pseudo-ceramides, don't really dissolve well in water. If anything they dissolve more easily in oil, and even when dissolved, crystallization occurs where they become grainy or sticky. So that's why when putting in ceramide until now, if you put it in toner it becomes only a small amount, or it goes into emulsions or creams and such. So Curel is a sensitive skin product, and sticky feeling and such aren't preferred by many people. In that sense, Kao—what's here is a balm—and creams and balms had plenty of ceramide in them, but the toner didn't have ceramide in it until now. So what was in it instead? Something called eucalyptus extract, which is a component that supports the ceramide sensory properties, so you'd use the toner and then use cream or emulsion and care for ceramides that way, right? But you know, Japanese people really love toner, right? So they wondered if they could put plenty of ceramides in toner too, and Kao has been researching this for a long time. So when they get the idea for what comes to mind, didn't I release a video saying Curel spray is amazing? Didn't I mention it had ceramides in it? People might say, but this Curel spray-type toner actually does have ceramides in it. So how did they do it? First, they took ceramides and did vesiculation—made them into capsule form to dissolve more easily in water, put them in a special machine, and put them finely into spray form. You might think, "But they managed to do it with spray," right? Spray goes "pshhh," right? So if you kept doing that, it wouldn't get quite to sticky but probably if you put that in water form, I think there might be some stickiness. So they did vesiculation and applied pressure—I mentioned that part—but if it's not spray, there were probably textural and other issues. I think that came out around 2020, so for three years since then they've been developing the technology more and more, and with vesiculation—making it capsule form—they've managed to make it much, much, much smaller. Because of that, even when putting ceramides in toner, they don't crystallize properly and there's no stickiness either. And another nice thing is that before it was spray type, so even with toner type they couldn't put in other components, and also because they apply special pressure, they couldn't do large-scale production much. So do you remember when that spray type was selling out for a while? It was that difficult to produce in large quantities. But now with this new vesiculation method of making things smaller, they can put it in toner without even needing special machines. And another thing is that Curel toner contains what I mentioned before as eucalyptus extract—a component that helps our cells produce ceramide—and another thing it contains is allantoin, which is a component that reduces inflammation. We have ingredients like ceramides in it. These couldn't actually be included in the spray type before. However, by incorporating new technology this time, while the appearance may seem unchanged, it contains plenty of ceramides. Similar to Shimamedo, arachidonic acid has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, with eucalyptus extract, it's also capable of helping your skin produce ceramides. While this might sound simple to say, I believe Curel has been working on this for around 20 years, and it has finally been possible to include it in this product. I could have said that they simply added it, but since Curel considers sensitive skin, just a small amount isn't enough. They've included a large amount for proper moisturization, and I think they've also paid great attention to the texture. Indeed, people with atopy or atopic sensitive skin will experience increased itching even with slight greasiness. Let me digress a bit, but for example, when I see atopic patients at my clinic and ask which they prefer between cream-type and ointment-type medications, many patients say they want the cream or lotion type because the ointment is too greasy. Even with the same medication, just a difference in texture can promote itching, causing them to scratch, which leads to inflammation. People with sensitive skin or atopy can worsen easily from small things, so texture is really important. I think it's wonderful that they've put so much thought into texture. So those with truly dry skin should use toner, lotion, and cream, or perhaps a balm. However, for those with summer dehydration where oil is produced but the skin becomes dry from air conditioning while still producing sebum, this toner actually comes in three types: 'slightly moisturizing,' 'moisturizing,' and 'very moisturizing.' So people with sensitive skin might use the second 'moisturizing' type and just apply cream around the eyes for good hydration. Of course, those with dry skin should add lotion and cream, but for those who produce their own oil but lack moisture, maybe just this toner might be enough. Arachidonic acid also reduces inflammation, so for those with acne, adding oil can create comedones and worsen acne. In that sense, arachidonic acid reduces inflammation while ceramides contain very little oil content, so providing proper moisturization with this is good. So not only for dry skin and sensitive skin people, but also for those with acne-prone skin and those experiencing summer dehydration, choosing 'moisturizing' or 'very moisturizing' instead of 'slightly moisturizing' would be really good for hydration. So that's our deep dive into Curel today. It sounds really simple when I say it, but I didn't quite understand it, so I contacted Curel. When asking what they meant, reducing micelle size through trial and error sounds simple, but it was extremely difficult—that's what I was told. I was so impressed, and I found out it's all about delicate balance. The researchers said they could only describe it as a 'delicate balance' and repeated this process many times before finally succeeding, expressing how happy they were. I think this reflects both the researchers' passion and their desire to provide plenty of ceramides to people with sensitive skin.
