However, I've discovered products that completely changed my mind, so today I'll introduce them by skin concern. Please watch until the end. [For Dry Skin] Dr. Ci:Labo Aqua Collagen Gel For those with dry skin, I recommend Dr. Ci:Labo's Aqua Collagen Gel. This product could well be called the original all-in-one cosmetic—first launched in 1998 and now in its 7th generation reformulation. You might wonder about the difference between "gel" (ゲル, from German) and "jelly" (ジェル, from English)—they are essentially the same thing. However, since Dr. Ci:Labo is a pioneer of doctor's cosmetics, I believe they intentionally used the German term "Gel" to reflect that medical heritage. This product was developed by Dr. Shirono, a dermatologist and plastic surgeon, based on the philosophy that "moisturization is the key to a strong skin barrier." It contains an impressive lineup of moisturizing ingredients: 7 types of collagen, 3 types of hyaluronic acid, and 2 types of ceramide. Collagen molecules are normally too large to penetrate beyond the surface of the stratum corneum, but this gel contains collagen of various molecular sizes—smaller molecules penetrate deeper into the skin for greater moisturizing effect. The "hydrolyzed collagen (collagen peptide)" not only retains moisture effectively but also stimulates the production of new collagen. Additionally, "cocoyl hydrolyzed collagen" further supports collagen synthesis. The 3 types of hyaluronic acid and 2 types of human-identical ceramide provide strong barrier support. Dipotassium glycyrrhizate, a potent anti-inflammatory ingredient, is also included, making this suitable for those with mild skin sensitivity. If you suffer from severe dryness or sensitivity caused by dryness, this is highly recommended. [For Lifting & Firming] Grace One Moisturizing Repair Gel & Dr. Ci:Labo Aqua Collagen Gel Enrich Lift For lifting and firming, I'm recommending two products. First, Grace One Moisturizing Repair Gel features retinol derivatives—ingredients that improve skin firmness—in addition to collagen and hyaluronic acid. Retinol derivatives in an all-in-one product are quite rare. Since retinol also boosts hyaluronic acid production, it's effective for fine wrinkle care as well. It's also affordably priced, making it great for generous application. Second, Dr. Ci:Labo Aqua Collagen Gel Enrich Lift contains five proprietary lifting ingredients unique to Dr. Ci:Labo: ① Xanthan Gum Crosspolymer: A polymer derived from fermented starch that forms a network on the skin surface to physically lift and firm. ② Sapling Extract (Quercus acutissima): Helps improve skin elasticity and firmness. ③ Cork Oak Bark Extract: A plant extract that forms a film on the skin, creating an immediate tightening and lifting effect. ④ Almond Extract (polymerized): Forms a film on the skin surface to deliver a lifting effect. ⑤ Dipalmitoyl Hydroxyproline: A lipid-amino acid compound that inhibits enzymes responsible for collagen degradation in the dermis, thereby supporting collagen preservation and production.
