しわ改善効果が認められている成分について解説します。

皆さんこんにちは。内科・皮膚科医の友利新です。今日はシワ改善に効果が認められている3つの成分についてお話しします。私はいつもこのチャンネルで、「化粧品はあくまでも予防であり、すでにできているものを治療したい場合は必ずクリニックに行ってください」というお話をしています。しかしシワに関しては、きちんと改善できる成分が3つあります。正しく作られた化粧品を使えば改善の可能性があり、効果が期待できるだけでなく、これからできるであろうシワの予防にもなる、皮膚科医も注目する成分が3つあります。それぞれメーカーが大々的に打ち出していますが、成分の特徴を理解しておくと、自分のシワに合ったものを選びやすくなると思いますので、今日はその3つの成分を皆さんにご紹介したいと思います。 まず1つ目がニールワンという成分です。ニールワンは2016年にポーラが独自に開発した成分で、2017年1月に「リンクルショット」という美容液として発売されました。同年7月には、市場初のシワを改善する効能を持つ医薬部外品として、ポーラ化成工業が製造販売承認を取得したというニュースが届きました。 ニールワンがどのようなメカニズムでシワを改善するかというと、「シワは傷と同じ」という考え方に基づいています。シワができる最も大きな原因は紫外線による炎症です。また、笑ったり動いたりすることで肌に継続的な圧力がかかり、そこに微細な炎症が生じます。炎症によって肌が傷つくと、白血球の一種である好中球が集まり、傷を修復しようとします。その際、好中球はエラスターゼという酵素を分泌し、傷ついた組織を溶かして新しく作り直そうとします。ところがシワの場合、実際には傷ではないにもかかわらず好中球が過剰に集まり、エラスターゼが大量に分泌されてしまいます。これがシワを悪化させる原因になっているということをポーラが発見しました。つまり、この好中球エラスターゼをブロックする成分を作ればシワが改善できる、という発想のもと開発されたのがニールワンです。 ニールワンはポーラのリンクルショットシリーズにのみ配合されており、他社製品には使われていません。2020年1月にはニールワンに新成分を加えた第2世代のリンクルショットが発売され、さらに2021年1月には第3世代も発売されています。 ニールワンの発表会では、長年この成分を研究してきた研究者の方が登壇されました。その方のお顔を見ると、左右のほうれい線の長さも深さも明らかに違うのです。試作品の段階から片側にのみこの成分を約10年間塗り続けた結果だということで、その効果は一目瞭然でした。その方の写真は私のインスタグラムにも掲載しています。 続いて2つ目がレチノールです。レチノールはもともとビタミンAの一種で、美容医療の現場でも使われてきた成分です。シワ改善の承認は、2017年1月に資生堂が取得しました。資生堂では「純粋レチノール」と呼んでいて、エリクシールのリンクルセラムやクレ・ド・ポーなどに配合されています。 レチノールは表皮のヒアルロン酸を増やす効果があるほか、真皮のコラーゲンやエラスチンの生成を促す効果があることが知られています。一方で、レチノールは変性しやすく不安定な成分であり、クリニックでも冷所保存・1ヶ月使い切りを推奨しています。また、皮膚への刺激が起こりやすく、赤みやかさつきが出ることがあります。 資生堂はこの課題を解決するため、純粋レチノールを変性しないよう独自技術で安定化させています。パッケージもエアレスポンプを採用するなど、酸化を防ぐ工夫がされています。また、効果効能が確認できる濃度を保ちながらも、刺激を最小限に抑えるバランスを実現しています。ただし、レチノール反応が完全に出ないわけではないため、敏感な方はご注意ください。 3つ目がナイアシンアミドです。2018年にKOSEがシワ改善効果の承認を取得しています。ナイアシンアミドはもともと美白効果が認められている成分で、安全性・安定性が高く、水に溶けやすいため様々な剤型に配合しやすい特徴があります。KOSEの研究により、表皮のメラニン生成を抑える美白効果だけでなく、真皮に働きかけてコラーゲンやエラスチンの生成を促し、シワを改善する効果も認められました。 私自身はこの3つの成分を使い分けています。深いシワ（ほうれい線や眉間など）にはニールワン、水分補給をしながら目元や首のシワケアにはレチノール、美白とシワ改善を同時に行いたい全顔ケアにはナイアシンアミドというように使い分けています。 ニールワンはポーラ専売ですが、レチノールとナイアシンアミドは他社製品にも配合されています。ただし、最初に承認を取得したメーカーは安全性・有効性の検証に最も力を入れているということ、また各メーカーが独自成分でさらに効果を高めている点も覚えておくと、製品選びの参考になるかと思います。 次回はそれぞれの代表的な美容液について詳しく解説する予定ですので、ぜひチャンネル登録をしてお待ちください。では、また次の動画でお会いしましょう。さようなら。

Hello everyone. I'm Toa, a physician specializing in internal medicine and dermatology. Today I'd like to talk about three ingredients that have been officially recognized for their wrinkle-improving effects. On this channel, I often say that cosmetics are primarily for prevention, and if you want to treat existing skin concerns, you should visit a clinic. However, when it comes to wrinkles, there are three ingredients that can genuinely improve them. Using properly formulated cosmetics containing these ingredients may yield real improvements and help prevent future wrinkles — and these are three ingredients that even dermatologists take seriously. Since each ingredient is prominently featured by its respective manufacturer, understanding them will help you choose the right one for your specific concerns. The first ingredient is Niarl One (NIARL-1). It was independently developed by POLA in 2016 and launched in January 2017 as a serum called "Wrinkle Shot." In July of the same year, POLA Chemical Industries obtained regulatory approval, making it the first quasi-drug in Japan with recognized wrinkle-improving efficacy. The mechanism behind Niarl One is based on the concept that "wrinkles are like wounds." The primary cause of wrinkles is UV-induced inflammation. Repeated facial movements also place continuous pressure on the skin, causing microscopic inflammation. When the skin is damaged by this inflammation, neutrophils — a type of white blood cell — gather at the site and try to repair the damage by releasing an enzyme called elastase, which breaks down damaged tissue so it can be rebuilt. However, in the case of wrinkles, even though there is no actual wound, neutrophils accumulate excessively and release large amounts of elastase. POLA discovered that this overproduction of neutrophil elastase is actually a key driver of wrinkle formation. From this insight, they developed Niarl One as a compound that blocks neutrophil elastase, thereby improving wrinkles. Niarl One is exclusively used in POLA's Wrinkle Shot series. A second-generation Wrinkle Shot containing additional new ingredients was released in January 2020, followed by a third-generation version in January 2021. At the launch event for Niarl One, a researcher who had been studying the ingredient for many years appeared on stage. Looking at her face, it was striking — the nasolabial folds on each side were clearly different in both length and depth. She had been applying the ingredient to only one side of her face for nearly ten years, starting from the prototype stage, and the results were unmistakable. I have posted a photo of her on my Instagram. The second ingredient is retinol. Retinol is a form of vitamin A that has long been used in aesthetic medicine. In January 2017, Shiseido obtained approval for retinol's wrinkle-improving effect. Shiseido refers to it as "pure retinol," and it is incorporated in products such as the ELIXIR Wrinkle Serum and Clé de Peau Beauté. Retinol is known to increase hyaluronic acid in the epidermis and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the dermis, improving skin elasticity and reducing wrinkles. However, retinol is an unstable ingredient that is prone to degradation, which is why clinics typically recommend storing it in a cool place and using it within one month. It can also cause skin irritation, including redness and dryness. Shiseido addressed these challenges by using proprietary technology to stabilize pure retinol and prevent degradation. The packaging features an airless pump to minimize oxidation. The formulation is also carefully calibrated to maintain an effective concentration while minimizing the risk of irritation — though retinol reactions can still occur in some individuals, so those with sensitive skin should take care. The third ingredient is niacinamide. KOSÉ obtained approval for niacinamide's wrinkle-improving effect in 2018. Niacinamide is a well-established ingredient long recognized for its skin-brightening properties, and it is notable for its high safety profile, stability, and water solubility, which makes it easy to incorporate into various formulations. Through their research, KOSÉ demonstrated that niacinamide not only inhibits melanin production in the epidermis for a brightening effect, but also penetrates into the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin synthesis, thereby improving wrinkles. Personally, I use all three of these ingredients in different ways: Niarl One for deep wrinkles such as nasolabial folds and frown lines, retinol for the eye area and neck where I want to boost hydration while addressing wrinkles, and niacinamide all over the face when I want to address both brightening and wrinkle improvement simultaneously. Niarl One is exclusive to POLA, but retinol and niacinamide are used by other brands as well. That said, the manufacturers who were first to obtain regulatory approval have invested the most in validating safety and efficacy, and many of them have enhanced their formulas with additional proprietary ingredients to boost effectiveness — something worth keeping in mind when choosing products.
