Hello everyone! I'm Toshitoshi Yuri Nitta. Today, I received a message from an Instagram follower asking me to do a deep dive on a cosmetic product that they said significantly improved their skin transparency. When I researched it, I found that it claimed to contain the highest concentration of tranexamic acid in the Korean cosmetics market, and I wondered about that, so I tried using it. What we're talking about is VT's TX Toning line, and there are also sheet masks, but today I'd like to do a deep dive into whether this high concentration is really as good as it claims, so if you're interested, please watch until the end. So, right away with VT's TX Toning, what's common to all of them is tranexamic acid, glutathione, and niacinamide. Tranexamic acid is a component approved as a quasi-drug in Japan and is included for its whitening and anti-inflammatory properties. I personally love tranexamic acid itself, and especially when UV is strong, it not only suppresses melanin production but also reduces inflammation. Also, among age spots, what's called melasma becomes darker with UV exposure, and the melanocytes that produce melanin are said to exhibit abnormal activation. Because they exhibit abnormal activation, even slight UV exposure causes excessive melanin production, resulting in melasma formation, so tranexamic acid, which has both oral and topical forms, is effective not just for regular age spots but also for melasma. So I myself am more concerned with melasma than regular age spots, and when my menstrual cycle or UV exposure makes it darker, since it's a quasi-drug, I use whitening products, and it seems VT's TX Toning series is selling on the fact that it contains high-concentration tranexamic acid. In addition to tranexamic acid, of course niacinamide and glutathione are included, and glutathione, which has an image of being liver-related in Japan, also improves skin transparency, and niacinamide is effective as well for whitening and preventing skin irritation, so because these are combined, it was posted on social media as being highly recommended for those with sensitive skin tendencies or those wanting to improve transparency. However, honestly, tranexamic acid is a great ingredient, but it has the property of being difficult to penetrate into the skin. Why is that? Because it's a water-soluble component. Since skin tends to be somewhat oily, it's difficult for water-soluble substances to penetrate well. I thought they were trying hard to make high concentration penetrate, so I researched and found they're using technology that encapsulates tranexamic acid, glutathione, and niacinamide in nano-sized capsules to improve penetration. I thought that was really wonderful. Also, since it says high concentration, I wondered why it's not specified, and I sometimes call companies to ask directly about such things, so I made an inquiry. They told me they couldn't disclose that, but they said the most concentrated ingredient is over 10%. So I asked, over 10%? The reason I'm surprised is that in Japan's quasi-drug standards, there's generally a 2% limit. This isn't widely known, but it's generally said that about 2% is necessary to be approved as a quasi-drug. Why is that? Because 2% is the safe usage standard and shows results, so Japan has set it at 2%. However, for the product name, when prescribing at clinics, slightly higher concentrations are sometimes used, but when selling to the general public, it's generally around 2%, so 10% is extremely high concentration, so I was quite surprised. However, as for which one, I think the most concentrated is probably the TX Toning Essence labeled as "2000 shot," this essence. Since all the ingredients are listed in Korean, I might be mistaken, but in the toner, the first ingredient is water, glycerin, and next is niacinamide. Since tranexamic acid comes quite far down, it probably doesn't contain that much. I suspect it contains about the same or even less than a typical Japanese quasi-drug. Looking at this mask's ingredients too, it's water, glycerin, and then niacinamide. After that comes propanediol, BG methylpropanediol, and then tranexamic acid, so maybe this also contains less than regular quasi-drugs. However, what surprised me is that the essence comes in 1000 and 2000 concentrations, and I think the 2000 is probably the more concentrated one, but looking at the full ingredient list, I noticed a significant difference. The 1000 has water, glycerin, and then tranexamic acid before niacinamide. So tranexamic acid is included in considerably higher amounts than niacinamide, which is impressive, but what's even more impressive is this one. Right after water, it's not glycerin but tranexamic acid that's listed next. Tranexamic acid, glycerin, and then niacinamide. So I think the essence labeled as "2000 shot" probably contains around 10% or more of tranexamic acid. It's extremely high concentration. Tranexamic acid itself, being water-soluble, does have the property of being difficult to penetrate, but since they're encapsulating it, it does penetrate more easily. When you apply it, it has a smooth, gel-like consistency. It's quite hydrating. It absorbs smoothly and becomes a pleasant essence. During this season or when you've been exposed to UV, I think you can use it quite comfortably. However, what I'm concerned about is the skin feel due to the high concentration. Tranexamic acid is a very safe ingredient. It's a low-irritation component. However, with over 10% concentration, some people might experience tingling, which is my honest opinion. However, since I have naturally oily skin and I'm not sensitive, cosmetics don't make me tingle. On the contrary, I think my skin's transparency around the melasma areas has actually improved. However, just because it's high concentration doesn't mean everything is good, and people with dry or reactive skin might experience some tingling, so in those cases, using the 1000 concentration might be an option. But looking at the entire line, with niacinamide, tranexamic acid, and glutathione all included, I think it's a pretty good line for antioxidation and whitening. The essence actually also contains allantoin for anti-inflammatory purposes. Since it's said to be good for wound healing, and it's hydrating, I have the impression it might be surprisingly good for acne scars. Also, what makes me think this is very Korean cosmetics is that it definitely contains plant-derived ingredients and glycyrrhizin besides allantoin for anti-inflammatory benefits. So in terms of providing anti-inflammatory benefits while improving overall quality, I think it's quite good. So if you've been exposed to a lot of sun or are concerned about melasma, or if you simply want to improve transparency, I think it's fine to use it, and it's better for oily skin or people with naturally more oily skin rather than dry skin. It's quite refreshing. Of course there's also a cream, but sorry, I haven't used the cream, but the toner and essence are quite refreshing, so I think it should be quite good this season. So, how was that? Many Korean cosmetics advertise high concentration, and while high concentration has its benefits, becoming irritating to the skin and ultimately, putting in a high concentration without the technology to penetrate it into the skin doesn't mean much, so with this product, it has that technology but also the possibility of tingling, so in that sense, I think it's good that they've separated it into 1000 and 2000 concentrations, so if you're interested, please check it out. And starting this month, we're offering a 90-yen monthly membership. We do member-exclusive YouTube Live every Wednesday, where we provide member-exclusive content such as deep dives into cosmetics.
