Hello everyone, I'm Arata Tomori, an internal medicine and dermatologist. It's getting colder and colder, and both the temperature and humidity are dropping, aren't they? Isn't your body getting quite dry as well, not just your face? So today I'd like to introduce three recommended body care items. First, one thing I often get asked about body skincare is whether you should apply lotion and cream to your body just like you do for your face. I think that would be ideal if you can do it, but I think it's quite a hassle, so during summer, spray-type lotions or milks are fine, but once winter comes, I think it would be good to incorporate creams or more moisturizing products. Today, while the base concept is dryness care, I'd like to introduce items according to different concerns. So right away, the first one is perfect for those who want a large volume to use generously, but would also like ingredients that offer whitening benefits. This is the Johnson Body Care Radiance Lotion. My face is on the larger side, but this bottle is about the same size — it's 500ml. This Johnson Body Care series comes in various scents, and this one has a jasmine and white lily fragrance. Since it says "Brightening Lotion," whitening-type ingredients are indeed well incorporated. Specifically, that would be a vitamin C derivative and niacinamide. The vitamin C derivative is called ascorbyl glucoside, which is one of the vitamin C derivatives that has been approved as an active whitening ingredient. Since this product isn't registered as a quasi-drug, it doesn't explicitly say "whitening" in large text, but ascorbyl glucoside is broken down by an enzyme called alpha-glucosidase after entering our skin, turning into ascorbic acid, and is said to work slowly and gradually — it's also called a "sustained-release" type vitamin C. Also, niacinamide is listed right after water, mineral oil, and glycerin, so I think it's included in a solid amount. Niacinamide itself is also an active ingredient for whitening and preventing rough skin, so having these ingredients in such a large volume makes this quite a good deal, I think. Also, mineral oil is a highly stable oil, so some people might avoid it thinking it's "chemical," but when it comes to large-volume products, stability becomes quite important, so I think mineral oil is a good choice here. This is a perfect bottle for those who want a bit of whitening benefit as well. Next is perfect for people whose skin gets dry no matter what they apply, feels rough and flaky, and worry about developing itchiness — this one is Atopi Smile Medicated Body Lotion. Since it's labeled "medicated," what active ingredient does it contain? It's dipotassium glycyrrhizate. Dipotassium glycyrrhizate is an anti-inflammatory ingredient, and since people with dry skin tend to develop inflammation easily, this ingredient works to calm that inflammation. So why is this said to be especially good for very dry skin? It's because this contains something called Rice Power No. 7. Rice Power comes in various numbers like No. 6, 11, and 11 Plus — so what does No. 7 do? For people whose skin lacks sebum, or whose sebum-producing function has declined, Rice Power No. 7 is expected to give that function a bit of a boost and help normalize sebum secretion. Our skin has moisture in the stratum corneum, and by producing our own sebum, the barrier function is properly completed. Of course, adding moisturizing ingredients is important, but it's also extremely important for our own body to produce sebum. In that sense, Rice Power No. 7 is an ingredient I really want people with very dry skin to pay attention to. Also, it contains plant-derived squalane, glycerin, and other moisturizing ingredients that are gentle and reassuring for sensitive or dry skin, so if you're someone who worries that your skin stays dry no matter what you apply, or that itchiness might develop, I think it's worth checking this one out. Next is for people who don't have time to apply this and that — who want to quickly finish their skincare routine after bathing, but still want to moisturize their body — a bit of a demanding request, but this one is perfect: Medi 5 Oil-in Bath Salt. This is a bath salt containing oil. So when you put this in your bathwater, you'll feel a bit more moisturized after your bath. Of course, applying oil or cream afterward would be even better, but as I mentioned, for people who find that too much of a hassle and don't want to do anything extra, this is a great option. Each grain of the bath salt is coated with oil. So when dissolved in hot water, both the bath salt and the oil dissolve, and this is how it's formulated. As a result, an oil film forms on the surface of the bathwater, and when you get into the bath, this film adheres to your skin. But that's not all — what's really interesting is that it also contains a vitamin C derivative. What kind of vitamin C derivative? It's called tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate, an oil-soluble vitamin C derivative. Some people experience stinging with vitamin C, but this oil-soluble vitamin C derivative is one that even people with sensitive skin can use with peace of mind. Just by using it, there's a good chance it will penetrate the skin. It also contains citric acid, malic acid, lactic acid, and other ingredients that gently soften the stratum corneum. Along with the smoothness from the oil, it also seems to loosen excess dead skin cells, so it really does leave your skin feeling smooth, and with the vitamin C derivative penetrating as well, I think this is a bath salt worth checking out for people who find body care too much of a hassle. It's also labeled with benefits like relief from poor circulation/coldness, bruises, and fatigue recovery, so for people who want to take care of their overall body condition — since we all get tired in various ways — not just skin care, but overall body maintenance, I think this is a pretty good option. So, that's it for today — I introduced body care items according to different concerns. Was there anything that caught your interest? If something caught your eye, please check it out. Also, if there's anything else you'd like me to cover, please leave a comment, and if you have any body care products you'd highly recommend, I'd love for you to share them in the comments as well. See you in the next video. Bye-bye!
