美白・シワ改善・肌荒れ防止の効果があるナイアシンアミド配合の最新化粧品を紹介します。

Hello everyone, this is Tomonori Arata. Today I want to talk about the well-known ingredient 'Niacinamide.' Many of you probably have the image that it's good for wrinkles and dark spots. Actually, a truly remarkable new cosmetic product containing an advanced form of niacinamide has just been released, and I was so impressed that I wanted to share it with you. Before that, let me first explain what niacinamide actually is. Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3, belonging to the same vitamin family as vitamin C and vitamin E. It's also known as nicotinamide, and you may sometimes see it listed under that name in ingredient lists. Niacinamide and nicotinamide are the same substance, so please don't be confused if you see different names. Niacinamide is actually a fairly old ingredient. Within the cosmetics industry, it has the reputation of being 'trendy now, but actually been around for a long time.' It's a very excellent ingredient with multiple benefits. First, it helps regulate the skin's barrier function. It normalizes the turnover of skin cells called keratinocytes. Turnover that's too fast or too slow is both problematic — maintaining a normal cycle of around 28 days is essential for strengthening barrier function. Niacinamide also promotes the production of ceramide, the main component of the intercellular lipids that hold stratum corneum cells together, as well as other lipids. This improves barrier function and can also help prevent skin roughness. Second, it has whitening effects. It blocks the transfer of melanin — produced by melanocytes in response to UV exposure — to skin cells. It also promotes turnover, helping to expel any melanin that has already been transferred. Third, it helps improve wrinkles. Niacinamide is known to promote the production of collagen and elastin. Since wrinkles are partly caused by sagging resulting from decreased collagen and elastin, niacinamide works gradually rather than dramatically like retinol, but with long-term use it can help brighten overall skin tone and improve wrinkles. Despite having all these benefits, niacinamide is also known as a very stable, low-irritation ingredient. Now, niacinamide is found in many products these days, from drugstore brands to department store cosmetics. However, not all niacinamide is the same. The niacinamide used in quasi-drug (medicated) cosmetics is often a proprietary version developed independently by each manufacturer. Normally, when making cosmetics, companies purchase various raw ingredients and blend them together. However, for quasi-drug registration, brands typically use their own uniquely developed or blended niacinamide. Although the chemical formula may be identical, subtle differences can arise. As I mentioned, niacinamide has three main benefits: preventing skin roughness, whitening, and improving wrinkles. However, very few products have obtained quasi-drug approval for all three benefits simultaneously. This is because each benefit must be tested and approved separately by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Just as salt from different regions can taste subtly different, niacinamide can vary slightly due to impurities or pH differences, affecting whether it passes each test. This time, a niacinamide that cleared all three tests and received official approval has been released. It's found in Dior Prestige White Wrinkle Emulsion Lumière, under the ingredient name 'Niacinamide CD.' The 'CD' likely stands for Christian Dior. While niacinamide is typically registered for either whitening or wrinkle improvement, Dior refined it further and also proved its skin-soothing effects, creating Niacinamide CD. This means the product can genuinely claim all three benefits — whitening, wrinkle improvement, and prevention of skin roughness — which is truly remarkable. Getting approval from the Ministry of Health for such a name is no easy task, and this likely reflects years of research by Dior into how to create a next-level niacinamide. Dior is famous for its Bar Jacket, and as an haute couture brand, they have a philosophy of crafting each piece by hand. I feel that same dedication to originality — 'uniquely Dior' — carries over into this cosmetic product as well. Even with the same active ingredient, this commitment to their own formulation is what makes Niacinamide CD special, fitting perfectly with the high-end Prestige line. The product also contains Centella Asiatica extract (also known as 'Cica'), well known for its soothing properties. When skin becomes inflamed, inflammatory substances like interleukin-8 are released, spreading the inflammation further. Centella Asiatica extract blocks these substances, preventing the inflammation from spreading — adding to the product's anti-irritation benefits alongside niacinamide. It also contains White Rose extract, a signature ingredient of Dior's Prestige line, known for its strong antioxidant and whitening properties. Furthermore, the product includes 'Luminescent Flower Polyphenol,' extracted from mugwort sourced from the Shirakami-Sanchi region in Tōhoku, Japan. It's interesting that a Dior product contains a Japanese mugwort-derived ingredient! This component helps suppress carbonylation of the epidermis (a process that causes skin to become stiffer and take on a yellowish tone) and helps prevent epidermal inflammation — both of which contribute to reducing dullness, something many Japanese people with yellow-toned dull skin can relate to. With White Rose extract, Centella Asiatica, and mugwort-derived polyphenols working together to address dullness caused by inflammation and carbonylation, combined with the triple-action of Dior's proprietary Niacinamide CD, this truly is a standout department-store cosmetic product. The price reflects that too, but it's absolutely worth it. What did you think?
