Hello everyone! This is Arata Tomori. Today's video is a special feature on serums released in autumn/winter 2025. For those of you thinking "there aren't many serums this year," some really excellent ones have come out, so I've picked out five of them. If you want to know about the new serums, please watch until the end. First is Sofina iP's Skin Toning Serum, which is a serum that addresses uneven skin tone. Next is Dr.K's C Control Repair Serum. Speaking of Dr.K, it's known for pores, right? This time, along with their signature vitamin cocktail, they've added a certain ingredient that addresses adult pores while suppressing chronic inflammation. Then there's ETVOS's Ultimoisture Core Concentrate Serum, which is all about moisturizing. As skin thinning progresses, firmness is lost, so this serum approaches the epidermis to suppress that thinning. And the one so interesting I thought about dedicating an entire video just to it is FANCL's Advanced Beauty Concentrate. It contains exosomes derived from goat milk! For those who think exosomes sound suspicious, I'll explain what exosomes actually are while also talking about how amazing FANCL is. Lastly, there's Lancôme's Rénergie Triple Serum. Since it's "triple," it properly contains three separate ingredients, so I'll introduce it in detail. I've also covered Sofina iP in its own dedicated video, so if you want to learn more, please check that out too. When we talk about uneven skin tone, there are three types: the redness of inflammation, the darkness of melanin, and the yellowish dullness caused by glycation. For redness, there's glycyrrhizic acid; for melanin, there's niacinamide; and for the yellowish dullness from glycation—since Sofina iP means Kao—it comes from Kao's glycation research. It contains a plant-derived ingredient that removes AGEs (advanced glycation end-products), the fluorescent substances found in the stratum corneum. Japanese people tend to be prone to yellowish dullness, so being able to target that in addition to the usual redness and melanin-based darkness is groundbreaking. If you're concerned about yellowish dullness, I think Sofina iP would be a great choice. When you open it, it has a somewhat slippery texture, but it absorbs in nicely. It also has a moisturizing feel. Delivering water to the cells in the stratum corneum is basically Sofina iP's specialty—thanks to their "kerato" moisturizing ingredients, it's packed with hydration, so I think it's also great for people with dry skin. Now, Dr.K's C Control Repair Serum—this is an evolution of what used to be their leading serum in a brown bottle. Speaking of Dr.K, it's all about the vitamin cocktail—not just vitamin C, but a well-balanced combination of various ingredients to shrink pores. This time, they're focusing on the fact that people concerned about enlarged pores are actually experiencing inflammation. To suppress inflammatory cytokines and reactive oxygen species, they've added a derivative of the currently trending NMN. When NMN enters the skin, it increases NAD+, and NAD+ is said to remove reactive oxygen species and activate sirtuin genes. So doing this in the skin means suppressing chronic inflammation—both the inflammation around pores and the inflammation caused by aging. So when it comes to pores, whether it's sagging pores or inflammation, rather than debating which comes first, both are happening simultaneously. For people in that situation, this serum combines the classic vitamin cocktail with an NMN derivative that boosts NAD+, allowing both anti-aging care and pore care at once—a serum that's a real blessing for those with oily, shiny skin. When dispensed, it's orange—like vitamins are overflowing. When applied, it spreads smoothly and beautifully. It's not sticky at all, so it's good for people concerned about oily pores, and yet it doesn't feel like it's stripping away sebum. Even if you're concerned about pores but also have some dryness, this could work well for you too—it never feels like it's over-removing sebum. Next, this one contains human-type ceramides. There are other products in the line too, but this particular moisturizing serum contains five types of human-type ceramide. Among them is the long-chain type, which has "long arms." Think of Tetris—having various shapes allows pieces to fit into gaps better. In the same way, having long-chain, medium-chain, and short-chain types allows the ceramides to fill in gaps seamlessly, strengthening the skin barrier and helping to suppress inflammation and retain moisture. ETVOS proposes that combining niacinamide with human-type ceramide helps suppress skin thinning. Niacinamide itself is also an ingredient known to prevent skin irritation, and it approaches epidermal cells to help increase hyaluronic acid production. As we age and skin thins, firmness is lost—so by including five types of human-type ceramide, especially emphasizing the long-chain type, along with niacinamide, this serum helps suppress epidermal thinning. So rather than just being a plain moisturizing serum, I'd recommend this for people who feel their skin has lost firmness due to thinning, or feels like it's "deflating." When you press it, this part comes out. Let me do it again—press it and it comes out, and when you open it, there's another dose stored inside. Pretty interesting, right? It has a moist feel. Since ceramide itself dissolves well in oil-based ingredients, it's a cream-like item, but when you spread it, there's no stickiness. The more you spread it, the more you feel its freshness—yet it still feels protective. It's an incredibly pleasant serum to use. Next is FANCL's Advanced Beauty Concentrate—this serum contains exosomes derived from goat milk! Many brands don't clearly specify what's actually effective, so I used to view exosomes with quite a bit of skepticism. But I was surprised that the straightforward, sincere FANCL suddenly jumped into this space. FANCL has traditionally researched things like collagen, right? I actually visited their research lab and heard a lot about their collagen research. By properly increasing collagen and elastin, skin firmness is generated. Back in what I believe was 2020, FANCL found that applying exosomes derived from adipose-derived stem cells to fibroblasts increased the production of collagen and elastin. They presented this at IFSCC—which is like the "Olympics" of the cosmetics world—and it was hailed as amazing. "Adipose-derived stem cell exosomes" sounds pretty vague though, right? But they dug deeper into what specifically in those exosomes was acting on fibroblasts, and found that a component called MIA-365A was the key driver behind the increased collagen and elastin production. This data has also been presented at cosmetic science societies. So even if something is called "exosomes from adipose stem cells," if it doesn't contain MIA-365A, it doesn't mean much. They searched for alternative sources containing MIA-365A, and remarkably, they found that goat milk also contains this MIA-365A component. Isn't that amazing? I was surprised myself at how they arrived at goat milk. They extracted MIA-365 from goat milk, removed all the proteins that could cause allergies, and that's what went into FANCL's Advanced Beauty Concentrate. It's essentially an image of including only the effective part of exosomes. So even though exosomes used to make people go "hmm, not sure about this," I think this research really reflects FANCL's meticulous approach. This is honestly one of the most groundbreaking serums, in my opinion. This year, firmness has become a major trend, with lotions and creams focusing on it too, but I found this approach really interesting from a different perspective than most. You might be wondering about the texture—like, is goat milk actually going to come out? But it's actually fairly normal. It does have quite a cream-like texture, though it doesn't feel like it forms a sticky film. It has enough moisturizing power that you could almost use it alone for hydration. Finally, this is Lancôme's Rénergie Triple Serum. Since it's called "triple serum," there are three separate holes, each connected to its own separate tank—containing vitamin C, retinol, and peptides. Retinol, vitamin C, and peptides can technically be mixed together, but doing so makes them unstable. So by keeping them in separate containers, they mix together the instant you dispense it, allowing a high concentration yet fresh blend to penetrate the skin. Normally, to ensure stability, you'd have to think carefully about concentration levels and stabilizing agents, but keeping them completely separate is a fascinating approach. By incorporating retinol, vitamin C, and peptides, this serum promotes firmness and collagen production, making it quite a powerful serum, I'd say. Alright, so what did you think?
