Hello everyone, this is Arata Tomori. Today, I've received a lot of questions asking, "Does Dr. Tomori take any inner care supplements or things for inner care?" So I wanted to introduce the inner care items I regularly use. Please watch until the end.
Basically, I'm someone who prefers to get nutrients through food. So I'm not the type who recklessly recommends supplements or insists that you absolutely must eat health foods. Looking at my diet over a week as a whole, I choose supplements or health foods to supplement whatever seems to be lacking.
What I need might be different from what you need, but these are the things I personally use regularly. So please take this as just a reference. I'll also explain why I chose to take each one, so if it applies to your situation, it might be worth trying—but if your lifestyle is different, it might not be necessary at all. Please keep that in mind as you watch through to the end.
Let's start with the first one: Active Supplement's "A Plus D" or "Vitamin A Plus Mineral." The reason I take this is because I want to actively take in Vitamin A. Vitamin A helps suppress dryness of mucous membranes, and just as applying retinol to the skin can improve wrinkles, I feel that having a certain amount of Vitamin A in the body is very important for skin health. I don't have many opportunities to be in the sun, but in terms of wanting to keep my skin normal and give it a glowing appearance, sometimes I think I'm eating vegetables but I'm actually not getting enough, so I take this.
Depending on the situation, I switch between the Vitamin D version and the Mineral version. As the days get shorter with less sunlight, and since Vitamin D is a component produced through sun exposure, I apply sunscreen and try to avoid sun exposure, so I might not be producing much Vitamin D naturally—that's why I use this. Also, it's said that Vitamin A absorbs better when taken with oils, so on days when I've been out at the park playing with my kids, I choose the Mineral version, and on days when I haven't been outside much, I choose the Vitamin A Plus D version.
Next up is "Lulu Milk." I made a video a while back about gut health, where I explained that while adding things like lactic acid bacteria is important, the environment for nurturing the gut bacteria that already live within us is equally crucial. If the gut environment is poor and the existing gut bacteria are weakened, adding new lactic acid bacteria won't help them take root—just like how temp workers don't stick around at a toxic company. If our gut environment isn't good, newly introduced probiotics won't be able to settle in either. To energize these gut bacteria, we need to feed them. The food for gut bacteria includes things like resistant starch, beta-glucan, inulin, and fructooligosaccharides—collectively known as "luminacoids"—and I explained in that video how important it is to consume these daily.
What's amazing about Lulu Milk is that it contains not just luminacoids but lactic acid bacteria as well. It feeds the existing gut bacteria while also properly introducing new bacteria to weakened areas—it's a very well-thought-out product.
It comes in powder form, and the taste is somewhat like roasted soybean flour (kinako). I mix this Lulu Milk into the protein powder I created myself and drink it. The color looks a bit questionable, but it tastes really delicious. You can also dissolve it in milk, soy milk, or hot water—and if you want more richness, mixing it with milk or almond milk makes it even tastier. Our whole family drinks Lulu Milk regularly.
However, one downside is that it's a bit hard to mix. Since it doesn't contain artificial sweeteners, coloring, or additives, it doesn't blend easily—but I think that's also part of its charm. You can mix it while crushing the granules as you drink. Since it's made purely from natural ingredients, it does take a bit of effort, but I see that as part of the experience. I'd be happy if this evolved into a stick-type product someday, though that might be difficult. Lulu Milk has been one of my recent favorite finds, so if you feel your gut health isn't great or that you're not getting enough luminacoids, please search for "Lulu Milk"—it should come up right away.
Next, since I want to increase my skin's moisture levels, here's another one I've introduced before: "Hyal Moist Double White Tablet." I originally drank the liquid version, but it made me feel full, so now I use the tablet type. I love that you only need one tablet a day. However, apparently the liquid version is more effective for boosting moisture levels quickly, so on days before a photoshoot, I'll drink the liquid version, but day-to-day, I use the tablets.
Next is "Mai Hada Rice Power Jelly." There are various types of Rice Power, like Number 11, Number 9, and Number 6, which are typically used in cosmetics applied to the skin. However, this is the only one that's an ingestible type—containing "Rice Power Number 103."
This Rice Power Number 103, once digested and absorbed in the body, acts on both the dermis (deep skin layer) and the epidermis (skin surface). In the epidermis, it promotes ceramide synthesis, which is key to the skin's barrier function through intercellular lipids, thereby improving barrier function. In the dermis, it promotes collagen production—so it's beneficial for both layers, which I only recently learned.
This jelly containing Rice Power 103 is portable, similar to collagen jelly, so it works well as a snack too. I had been thinking collagen was good, but while researching Rice Power, I discovered this jelly and started drinking it recently.
This one is more geared toward dry skin. It overlaps somewhat with Hyal Moist, but Hyal Moist focuses more on skin moisture content, while this one focuses on firmness. Since it works on the dermis, it boosts both moisture and firmness/glow, so I take this as well.
So, how was that? These are roughly my current go-to items. I drink Lulu Milk morning and night, Active Supplement also morning or night, Hyal Moist mostly before bed, and Mai Hada Rice Power Jelly as a snack during the day when I'm a bit hungry—just one per day. It's so delicious I want to eat two, but I hold myself back to just one a day.
As I mentioned earlier, whether you need all of these depends on your lifestyle and diet. I typically eat only one or two meals a day, and in small portions, so I take protein supplements to make up for that, and I probably don't get enough dietary fiber either, which is why I take Lulu Milk with its luminacoids. I also want to prevent sagging skin, so I take Vitamin A—and since I rarely get sun exposure, I mainly take the Vitamin D version. Additionally, since I want to increase moisture and prevent sagging, I add Mai Hada and Hyal Moist to my routine.
So while not everyone may need all of these, I hope you can choose the ones that feel right for your own lifestyle. These are the things I'm taking during the winter at age 43, so things might change come spring or summer. If that happens, I'll be sure to share updated inner care information with you all again.
Thank you so much for watching until the end today. See you in the next video. Goodbye!
