This season's cleansers are designed with a clear focus on specific skin concerns and what kind of post-cleansing skin condition they aim to achieve. I'll introduce three products today, and each one clearly targets a different skin concern. If you're interested, please watch until the end. The first one I'll introduce today is this, Perfect One Focus Smooth Cleansing Balm. Simply put, this is made for people who want to deal with blackheads and clogged pores. Next is this Shu Uemura Blanc Cleansing Oil. This is a cleansing oil that addresses skin redness and uneven tone while cleansing. And finally, when it comes to cleansing balms, the original is DUO, right? The Cleansing Serum Peel & Boost from this brand is designed for those struggling with poor skincare absorption. Of course, removing makeup is a given for all of these, so the key point is what happens to the skin afterward. Let's dive right into the Perfect One Focus Smooth Cleansing Balm. This cleansing balm has always been extremely popular for pore concerns. This cleanser has been renewed this season. Clogged pores are made up of oil and protein. This protein is essentially old, dead skin cells. These old dead skin cells accumulate in the pores and harden together with sebum. So this new Perfect One contains three types of acids for exfoliating care. First is AHA, which includes lactic acid. Lactic acid itself exfoliates the skin's surface. Next is an acid called LHA, which blends well with sebum inside the pores. So it penetrates deep into the pores, and even if there's a lot of sebum inside, it effectively targets the surface layer of the pore. The third is PHA, which has a relatively large molecular size. It's not simply a matter of having more acids being better by combining these three. Over-exfoliating can lead to dryness, after all. By combining AHA, LHA, and PHA, it provides comprehensive exfoliating care from the surface to deep within the pores, which helps prevent the formation of clogged pores in the future. Even if you've done exfoliating care, if the pores remain open, clogged pores and blockages will occur again. So as a finishing touch after removal, you want to tighten the opened pores. This cleansing balm also contains ingredients that firm up the pores. The first is Glycyrrhizinate... I mean Glycylglycine. When inflammation occurs, the pores open up and become mortar-shaped, leading to enlarged pores. Glycylglycine helps suppress this inflammation. Another ingredient included is Inositol. This is like an AI-type ingredient—it suppresses sebum when there's too much (like in oily skin), but for those who don't have enough, it doesn't suppress it unnecessarily. It adjusts to the current sebum level and only suppresses excess production, so for people with a lot of clogged pores, who tend to have more sebum, this is an excellent ingredient. To summarize, rather than just removing clogged pores, this balm focuses on preventing future clogged pores by caring for both sebum (the root cause) and dead skin cells through daily cleansing, creating skin that doesn't form clogged pores. This is what Perfect One Focus Smooth Cleansing Balm offers. I think this is suitable for those with oily skin, combination skin, or dehydrated oily (inner-dry) skin. Next is this excellent department store cosmetic cleanser. The concept is a cleansing oil that protects the skin's moisture despite being an oil-based cleanser. The ratio of oil molecules to surfactants has been calculated to an extreme degree. It's not about adding some novel oil or novel surfactant. I think they've really considered the ultimate balance. Ingredients like Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Myristate, and Glyceryl Tricaprylate/Caprate are used— these are ester-based oils with high dissolving power. So it thoroughly removes makeup. Also, to prevent any sticky residue after rinsing, multiple polyglycerin-based emulsifiers are included. When the oil comes into contact with makeup and lifts it off, and then combines with water, it emulsifies quickly and cleanly, leaving no oily residue or stickiness after rinsing. Because rinsing is so easy, you don't need to wash your face multiple times—this is the design concept. While it has strong cleansing power, it's structured to prevent moisture evaporation. To prevent moisture evaporation, they've included an ingredient called Bright Complex. This includes a Bifidobacterium bio-ferment made using sake lees from Ishikawa Prefecture. Because it's fermented, it's rich in amino acids. These amino acids are said to help balance the skin's resident microbiome. Also, Bisabolol is included—this is recognized as an approved whitening active ingredient in Korea, and among whitening ingredients, it's also said to help suppress redness. To summarize, while thoroughly removing makeup, it also balances the skin and helps retain moisture as much as possible. To prevent moisture loss, you need to strengthen the skin's barrier function, so by including Bisabolol and the Bifidobacterium bio-ferment, the approach here is to create skin that doesn't easily become unstable or develop redness in the first place. So while suppressing inflammation, it still removes makeup thoroughly. Because it's friction-free and doesn't require repeated washing, it avoids irritation that could lead to redness. So for those whose skin wasn't originally dry but who now find themselves concerned about dryness even while properly removing makeup, I think Shu Uemura's Blanc Cleansing Oil would be a perfect fit. Next is DUO's Cleansing Serum Peel & Boost. Since it's called "Peel," it does contain proper peeling formulations. However, rather than aggressive peeling, it's more like a protective peeling that promotes skin turnover. This DUO product contains Mandelic Acid. It gives the image of gently loosening unnecessary dead skin cells on the surface. Also, there's PHA, specifically Lactobionic Acid, which also has a large molecular size and provides a peeling formulation that helps the skin retain moisture. So while it is a peeling product, it's less about clogged pores and more about removing dullness and rough texture from the skin's surface. It also contains scrub particles. There's a Neutrose-type scrub and a cellulose scrub—these two types. The Neutrose-type dissolves in water and gradually disappears, but as it does, it transforms into something like a serum, blending into the skin. It's a really interesting texture. Once the skin's surface is refined, liposome-encapsulated ceramide is delivered, so there's also a booster effect where this ceramide is delivered directly into the refined skin. This liposome-encapsulated ceramide is properly a human-type ceramide. So it removes unnecessary dead skin cells while directly delivering the necessary ceramide— this is DUO's cleansing balm that integrates both cleansing and an introductory serum step into one.
