As many of you may know, the camellia flower is an iconic symbol of Chanel—not just in fashion, but in beauty as well. In a word, the main benefit of this ingredient is moisturization. The standout feature of this product is its Oil Complex. A carefully curated blend of seven oils creates a protective film over the lips, helping to seal in moisture and prevent water loss. In addition, it contains Lauroyl Phytosphingosine, an ingredient with anti-inflammatory properties. Because lips are highly delicate yet constantly exposed to irritants—like licking, dryness, and environmental factors—this ingredient helps calm mild inflammation caused by such stressors. As the name suggests, this is a scrub-type product designed to exfoliate the lips, ideally used a few times a week rather than daily. As I discussed in a previous video titled "The Truth About Lips," while lips naturally have very thin skin, the outer layer tends to thicken with age. This means younger people tend to struggle more with dryness, while older individuals often notice dullness and discoloration. For those concerned about lip dullness, regular exfoliation is a highly effective solution. While I generally prefer to minimize harsh stimulation to the face, lips are less prone to hyperpigmentation. Moreover, the sugar scrub particles in this Estée Lauder product are extremely fine, meaning it won't cause excessive irritation as long as you apply it gently. Another highlight is that after exfoliation, the formula delivers deep hydration through the Advanced Moisture Complex—an hyaluronic acid-based ingredient also found in Estée Lauder's best-selling serums. This makes it a two-in-one treatment: exfoliate and moisturize in one step. I recommend using it about once a week as a special treatment for those experiencing lip dullness or minor peeling (not severe peeling or cracked, bleeding lips). So, what did you think?
