今期大注目のレチノール美容液について詳しく紹介します

皆さんこんにちは、コスメコンシェルジュの新田です。今日は、みんな大好きレチノールのお話です。今季大注目のレチノール美容液を深掘りしていきます。 今季話題になっているのは、この2つです。 1つ目は資生堂エリクシールの「レチノパワー リンクルクリーム」、そしてもう1つがドクターシーラボの「エンリッチリフト デュオセラム」です。どちらも今季非常に話題で、深掘りしてほしいというリクエストが多く寄せられています。特にエリクシールはさらにパワーアップしたので、そのあたりも詳しくご紹介したいと思います。 【資生堂エリクシール レチノパワー リンクルクリーム】 まず、エリクシールのレチノパワーリンクルクリームが何がすごくなったかというと、「真皮層へのアプローチ」と「浸透力の向上」です。 もともと資生堂の純粋レチノールは、日本で唯一「シワ改善」と明記することが認められているレチノールです。レチノールには刺激や不安定さといった課題がありますが、資生堂は化粧品の評価基準（ベーシック規格）において、安定性や刺激性などすべての試験をクリアしています。そのため、同じ「レチノール」と表示されていても、シワ改善効果を明記でき、医薬部外品として認可されているのは実は資生堂だけなのです。 この純粋レチノールが配合されているのが、エリクシールのレチノパワーリンクルクリームSです。これまでシワ改善の3大成分といえば、レチノール、ナイアシンアミド、そして…（もう一つ）でしたが、レチノールとしてシワ改善効果が認められているため、お求めやすい価格でドラッグストアでも購入できることから、以前から多くの方に愛用されています。 これほど優れた製品が、今回どうバージョンアップしたのかをご説明します。資生堂はシワの研究を続けており、シワができやすい人とできにくい人を比較する中で、興味深い発見をしました。年齢が高くなるとシワは深くなりますが、これは単に年齢だけが原因ではありません。紫外線の影響も大きいのですが、それ以外にも「角層の硬さ」が関係していることがわかったのです。 角層が硬くなると、表情筋の動きなどによる振動が、柔らかい肌の人に比べて何倍も強く真皮（コラーゲンやエラスチンがある層）に伝わります。この強い振動が伝わることで、コラーゲンを分解する酵素の活性が促進されてしまうことがわかっています。 コラーゲンは通常、分解と再生を繰り返していますが、角層が硬くなって刺激が加わることで、分解酵素だけが活性化し、コラーゲンがどんどん壊されていきます。その結果、角層の硬さに加えて真皮のコラーゲンが減少し、肌の強度が弱まってシワが深くなっていくのです。 レチノールは表皮の水分量を増やし、真皮のコラーゲンやエラスチンの生成も促進しますが、角層が硬いと、いくらコラーゲンを作っても分解酵素の働きに追いつかず、効果を感じにくくなってしまいます。 そこで資生堂は今回、角層を柔らかくする成分を新たに配合しました。これは3種類の油分成分で構成されています。「アジピン酸ジグリセリル」「コンゴウ脂肪酸エステル」「ヒマシ油」、そして「ジピバリン酸トリプロピレングリコール」という、少し発音しづらい成分名ですが、これら3つの油分にグリセリンやマヨナラエキスなどをプラスして配合しています。 この3つの油性成分を組み合わせることで角層を柔らかくし、角層が硬い人は柔らかい人に比べて約40%も圧がかかりやすいと言われているため、真皮への負担を軽減し、コラーゲン分解酵素の活性化を抑制する効果が期待できます。今までレチノールを使っていても効果を実感しにくかった方は、もしかすると角層の硬さが原因だったのかもしれません。 ちなみに、角層の硬さは加齢だけでなく、乾燥や紫外線によっても引き起こされるため、紫外線対策や日々のスキンケアも非常に重要です。 さらに、この角層柔軟化の油性成分にはもう一つのポイントがあります。単に柔らかくするだけなら、油性成分以外の成分でもよかったはずです。あえて油性成分を選んだのは、レチノールの浸透を高めるためだと考えられます。というのも、レチノールは油に溶けやすい性質を持つ成分で、製剤としても油の中に配合することで安定化します。 肌の表面に最初に油性成分が浸透すると、レチノールはより油分の多い場所へ引き寄せられる性質があります。つまり、角層を油分で柔らかくすることで、そこへレチノールが集中的に届くようになるのです。 この3つの油分プラスアルファの成分は、角層を柔らかくすると同時に、レチノールの浸透力を高める効果も期待できると考えています。これにより、角層の柔軟化とレチノールの効果向上の両方が実現し、シワ改善効果がさらに高まるのではないでしょうか。今まで評判は良いけれど効果がいまひとつだと感じていた方も、今回はより高い浸透感とダメージ軽減効果を実感できるかもしれません。 【ドクターシーラボ エンリッチリフト デュオセラム】 続いて、ドクターシーラボのエンリッチリフトデュオセラムです。こちらにもピュアレチノールがしっかりと配合されています。 実はドクターシーラボは現在、ジョンソン・エンド・ジョンソンという製薬会社の傘下に入っています。ジョンソン・エンド・ジョンソンには、かつて「ロシュ」という化粧品ブランドがあり、世界に先駆けてレチノールを研究し製品化したことで知られています。そのロシュでレチノール研究に携わっていた研究者が、現在ドクターシーラボのレチノール研究に関わっていると聞いています。そのため、こちらのレチノールも信頼できる製品だと考えています。 「デュオセラム」という名前の「デュオ」は「2つ」という意味です。ご覧いただくとわかるように、上層がオイル層、下層が美容液層になっています。2つの美容液が層になって存在し、静置すると分離した状態になります。使用前に振ることで一つの美容液として混ざり、それを使用します。 上のオイル層にはピュアレチノールが、下の美容液層にはビタミンCが配合されています。なぜこのような手間のかかる仕組みにしているのかというと、実はビタミンCとレチノールは相性が非常に良いのです。一緒に使うことでコラーゲンの生成を促進し、ハリ感やツヤ感の向上に貢献します。 しかし、両者はpH（水素イオン濃度）が異なるため、肌の上で一緒に働くことはできても、製剤として同じ容器に入れておくと安定性が悪くなってしまいます。ビタミンC（アスコルビン酸）は酸性で、レチノールはどちらかというと弱アルカリ性です。弱酸性と弱アルカリ性の成分を一緒にすると反応しあい、安定性が損なわれてしまうのです。そのため通常、ビタミンC美容液とレチノール美容液は別々の製品として販売されています。 ドクターシーラボは、これを1本にまとめられないかと考え、独自の処方を開発しました。オイル層にレチノールを、美容液層にはピュアビタミンCではなくAPPS（ビタミンC誘導体）を配合することで、pHの反応を抑えることに成功しました。オイル層と美容液層を分けて、使用直前に混ぜて使うという仕組みが、今回のポイントです。 この製品は、先ほどのエリクシールとは異なり、顔全体にレチノールを届けられる仕様になっています。肌に乗せた際、水溶性の美容成分の上に油が薄い膜を張るような形になるため、肌が油分を含んだ状態になり、そこにレチノールがより浸透しやすくなると考えられます。 2層構造にしているのは、レチノールとビタミンCを共存させるためだけでなく、レチノールを効果的に肌へ届けるためにも、このオイル層が必要だと考えられます。 シワ改善とは謳えませんが、全体的なハリ感やツヤ感を高めるには非常に優れた美容液だと思います。 【使用の裏技】 どちらもレチノールの使用性を追求して作られた製剤ですが、さらに効果を高める裏技があります。クリームや美容液を塗った後に、ジェルタイプのスリーピングマスク、例えばラネージュのスリーピングマスクのような水分の多いテクスチャーのもの、あるいはドクターシーラボのアクアコラーゲンゲルのようなものを重ねると、肌表面が水分を含んだ状態になります。 レチノールは水分をあまり好まない性質があるため、表面が水っぽくなることで、より油分の多い肌の内部へと入り込もうとします。この2つの製品だけでも十分な浸透力が期待できますが、さらに浸透力を高めたい場合は、この2つを塗った後にジェルタイプのスリーピングマスクやオールインワンゲルを重ねてみると良いでしょう。ぜひ裏技として試してみてください。 【まとめ】 今日は今季最新のレチノール美容液を2つご紹介しました。どちらも、レチノールをより効果的に肌へ浸透させる技術、そしてどのような成分と組み合わせることで効果を高められるかを、しっかりと研究して開発された製品だと感じ、改めて素晴らしい商品だと感動しました。 レチノールを使ってみたいという方は、どちらも肌への刺激が比較的少ないタイプだと思いますが、心配な方はまず1回塗ってみて、赤みが出た場合は2〜3日空けてからもう一度試してみるという方法をおすすめします。 今日の内容が良かったという方は、ぜひグッドボタンを押していただいたり、チャンネル登録をしていただけると嬉しいです。それでは、また次の動画でお会いしましょう。さようなら。

We'll be taking a deep dive into the most talked-about retinol serums of this season. The two products generating the most buzz this season are Shiseido Elixir's "Retino Power Wrinkle Cream" and Dr. Ci:Labo's "Enrich Lift Duo Serum." Both have been highly requested topics for deep dives, and since Elixir has been significantly upgraded, I want to explore that in detail as well. 【Shiseido Elixir Retino Power Wrinkle Cream】 What's new and improved about the Elixir Retino Power Wrinkle Cream is its "approach to the dermis layer" and "enhanced penetration." Originally, Shiseido's pure retinol was the only retinol in Japan approved to be labeled as "wrinkle-improving." While retinol typically presents challenges like irritation and instability, Shiseido has passed all tests under cosmetic evaluation standards (basic specifications) for stability and irritation. This means that even though other products may also be labeled "retinol," Shiseido is actually the only company that can claim wrinkle-improvement effects and receive quasi-drug approval. This pure retinol is what's contained in Elixir's Retino Power Wrinkle Cream S. Previously, the three major wrinkle-improvement ingredients were retinol, niacinamide, and... (another one), but because retinol itself is recognized for its wrinkle-improving effects at an affordable price available in drugstores, it has been popular among many users for some time. Let me explain how this already excellent product has been upgraded. Shiseido continues to research wrinkles, and by comparing people who develop wrinkles easily versus those who don't, they made an interesting discovery. While wrinkles do deepen with age, this isn't solely due to aging. UV exposure plays a major role, but they also found that "stratum corneum hardness" is a contributing factor. When the stratum corneum (outermost skin layer) becomes hardened, vibrations from facial expressions and movements are transmitted several times more strongly to the dermis (where collagen and elastin exist) compared to someone with softer skin. This stronger vibration transmission has been found to activate enzymes that break down collagen. Collagen normally goes through cycles of breakdown and regeneration, but when the stratum corneum hardens and this stimulation occurs, only the breakdown enzymes become activated, causing collagen to be destroyed at an accelerated rate. As a result, combined with the hardened stratum corneum, dermal collagen decreases, weakening the skin's structural strength and causing wrinkles to deepen. Retinol increases moisture in the epidermis and promotes collagen and elastin production in the dermis, but if the stratum corneum is hard, no matter how much collagen is produced, it can't keep up with the breakdown enzymes, making the effects harder to notice. This is why Shiseido newly incorporated ingredients to soften the stratum corneum this time. This consists of three oil-based ingredients: Diglyceryl Adipate, Congou Fatty Acid Ester, Castor Oil, and Tripropylene Glycol Dipivalate—admittedly difficult names to pronounce—combined with additional ingredients like glycerin and mayonara extract. By combining these three oil-based ingredients, the stratum corneum becomes softer. Since people with hardened stratum corneum experience approximately 40% more pressure compared to those with softer skin, this formula is expected to reduce the burden on the dermis and suppress the activation of collagen-degrading enzymes. If you've used retinol before but didn't feel the effects, stratum corneum hardness may have been the cause. Incidentally, stratum corneum hardness isn't caused only by aging—dryness and UV exposure also contribute to it, which is why UV protection and daily skincare remain extremely important. There's another point about these oil-based ingredients for softening the stratum corneum. If the goal were simply to soften the skin, other non-oil-based ingredients could have worked just as well. The reason they specifically chose oil-based ingredients, I believe, is to enhance retinol penetration. This is because retinol is an oil-soluble ingredient, and formulating it within oil helps stabilize it. When oil-based ingredients penetrate the skin's surface first, retinol has a tendency to be drawn toward areas with higher oil content. In other words, by softening the stratum corneum with oil, retinol becomes concentrated and delivered more effectively to that area. I believe these three oil ingredients plus additional components can be expected to both soften the stratum corneum and enhance retinol penetration simultaneously. This dual effect of stratum corneum softening and improved retinol efficacy should further enhance wrinkle-improvement results. Those who found the reputation good but the actual effects lacking may now experience greater penetration and reduced damage. 【Dr. Ci:Labo Enrich Lift Duo Serum】 Next is Dr. Ci:Labo's Enrich Lift Duo Serum, which also contains pure retinol. Dr. Ci:Labo is actually now under the umbrella of Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical company. Johnson & Johnson once had a cosmetics brand called "RoC," known for pioneering retinol research and product development worldwide. I've heard that a researcher who worked on retinol research at RoC is now involved in Dr. Ci:Labo's retinol research, which gives me confidence in the quality of this retinol as well. The name "Duo Serum" comes from "duo," meaning "two." As you can see, the product has an upper oil layer and a lower serum layer. Two serums exist as separate layers, and when left standing, they separate. Shaking before use blends them into one serum for application. The upper oil layer contains pure retinol, while the lower serum layer contains Vitamin C. The reason for this elaborate structure is that Vitamin C and retinol actually work very well together. Using them together promotes collagen production and contributes to firmness and radiance. However, since they have different pH levels, while they can work together on the skin, keeping them in the same container compromises stability. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is acidic, while retinol is somewhat alkaline. When weakly acidic and weakly alkaline ingredients are combined, they react with each other, compromising stability. This is why Vitamin C serums and retinol serums are typically sold as separate products. Dr. Ci:Labo wondered if these could be combined into one product and developed a proprietary formula. By using APPS (a Vitamin C derivative) instead of pure Vitamin C in the serum layer, combined with retinol in the oil layer, they successfully minimized the pH reaction. Separating the oil and serum layers, then mixing them right before use, is the key innovation here. Unlike the Elixir product, this one is designed to deliver retinol across the entire face. When applied to skin, the oil forms a thin film over the water-soluble beauty ingredients, creating an oily environment that likely enhances retinol penetration. The two-layer structure isn't just for allowing retinol and Vitamin C to coexist—this oil layer is also likely necessary for effectively delivering retinol to the skin. While it can't claim wrinkle-improvement effects, I believe this is an excellent serum for enhancing overall firmness and radiance. 【Application Tips】 Both products are formulated with careful consideration for retinol usability, but there's a trick to enhance their effects even further. After applying the cream or serum, layering a gel-type sleeping mask on top—such as Laneige's Sleeping Mask, which has a watery texture, or Dr. Ci:Labo's Aqua Collagen Gel—creates a water-rich surface on the skin. Since retinol doesn't particularly favor water, when the surface becomes watery, retinol is driven to move deeper into the oilier interior of the skin. These two products alone should provide substantial penetration, but if you want to maximize absorption even further, try layering a gel-type sleeping mask or all-in-one gel on top after applying these two products.
